hey!!!

just noticed bu is on their first 3 game winning streak of the year!! :D

#no1000

Scarlet just cursed your name and threw a pencil at her monitor. :)

Starman can get a annoying, but I like his passion.

In case anyone cares, I emailed the Agganis marketing department and here is their plan regarding the Pats game:

"We will show the game on the video board pregame as long as we can, so before and after warmups. The plan at this time is to post any necessary updates/the final score in-game as well."

This means that I am not going to BU game. Disappointing. I had hoped to be able to tape Pats and not find out score. I was even going to listen to a podcast during BU game so I wouldn't hear anyone talking about game.

it's impossible to make everyone happy.

as one who has tried to do what you're doing, between technology, people talking & just walking down the street it's virtually impossible to avoid any mention of the game (especially when you're at an arena for a game in the team's market).

Agreed, I gave up on that a long time ago and now would much rather just hear the updates. That goes for the pats game, or for a bu game or any game.

Agreed that the arena is in a tough spot but it is easy to avoid finding out the score if you have a plan and are disciplined.

If the Patriots game is more important to you than the BU game, then you stay home and watch them. In this day and age you cannot think that there wouldn't be any way to not get any kind of update. I don't think it's disappointing at all that they're doing it. The person sitting next to you/behind you/in front of you could tap you on the shoulder and say "What did you think about that Patriots game??" and totally ruin it for you.

Agreed the arena is in a tough spot but anyone who wants to find out the Pats score can do so on their phone. By having headphones in my ears and disabling all notifications to my phone, I could have done both. I can't do both given the arena will be posting score on Jumbotron. I also agree that I'm probably in the miniroty.

No offense but this is just ridiculous.

OK fine. No updates on the Jumbotron, everyone following along on their phones. Something big, crazy, nutty happens, or the game ends and the Pats win or lose - everyone around you is going to keep quiet? Not going to happen. You could be walking out of the building in a crowd of people who could all be discussing it. Remember a few years ago when Tebow was with the Broncos and he won that crazy game in OT? The BU SID, Brian Kelley, is a huge Broncos fan and had that game on in the press box and when that play happened, the screams from him and the others watching that were heard by me in an entirely different section.

Well, not sure why there is no trash talk around here but I will say it is pleasant to not have to sift through a bunch of pages of wannabe flamer mopes/fanboys that think they know what a flamefest is and weren't around 10 years ago.

I think both of these teams are going to be very dangerous as the season progresses and they will both be in Tampa... yes, you heard me right. Could be two epic clashes this weekend.

On another note, win or lose I am happy seeing my BU friends at these games and feel like a million bucks after seeing you guys so just wanted to say I'm really excited to see you tonight (not going tomorrow). Stop by and say hi... you know who you are.

Exactly. This will be a big weekend for area clowns. A valid reason to toss away the knitting needles and vacate the basement.

If you think you can go to an event with 6,000+ people all wanting to know/watching/talking about the same sporting event happening outside and not find out something, especially when the game ends, best of luck to you.

Sorry to miss you and the fam Nick. I won't be at Conte tonight but will be at Agganis tomorrow.

A moment ago, I read an article discussing the 2016 World Cup of Hockey. It listed all participating teams; among them are Team USA, Team Canada and Team North America. Does anyone know how Team NA differs from the other two?

NA is USA and Canadian players ages 23 and under. Team USA and Team Canada are restricted to players 24 and up.
