Probably leaving it for students since it's technically a student section. Problem is, it's still winter break so they easily could've known the students wouldn't take those tickets.

Exactly. Was what I figured, but they had to know these sections would not be filled. And now they have opened up small groupings of tickets in 6 other sections. If I were a fan who had to buy standing room only, I wouldn't be too thrilled. Even though 107 is technically a student section, we haven't had student demand for that section in a long time (if ever) even for BC games.

Technically winter break is over as the dorms open on Friday and the dining halls open for dinner on Saturday, but I expect most students will not return until Sunday or Monday.

Does anyone know if there has been any consideration on rescheduling the game to Sunday given the Patriots game and the students not being back on campus? Hopefully Agganis doesn't put the Pats score on the Jumbotron so those who want to tape the Pats game can watch when they get home.

Doubtful on a time change and 0% of moving the game to Sunday (even as a Pats fan I would be strongly against). If they cared about more students being there they would have scheduled it on Sunday from the beginning. Even if they move the game to 8, you would have to be at a bar in the area not to miss either a part of the Patriots game or a part of the BU game, but at least it would help and I would be in favor. I plan to be at T's and decide at 6:50pm when to go in. Probably will be in the late 3rd period or so.

Not knowing how crowded it will be given that students aren't back, but just a reminder that after the 10 minute mark of the first period, they do let people with SRO tickets sit in empty seats. So you may have people in your seats if you're not there for face off.

BU is currently fourth all-time, behind Minnesota, Michigan and Boston College (which passed BU during the 2010-11 season, assuming USCHO has the correct BC record).

USCHO has incorrect information for several of BU's season records based on old and incorrect information. I can post all the mistakes if you are interested.

BC, yes, the BC freshman and JV, no. Neither team existed long enough to even play 1500 games.

Sean

Brian Kelley tweeted that BU has 1,496 wins and that only Michigan and Minnesota have more. Is he ignoring BC, or is USCHO's information incorrect?

Those carpetbaggers can GTFO!!!

They won't be moving our coats or Popcorn so his seats are safe. :)

According to my source BC's 2015-16 media guide gives them a 1466-784-122 record after last season, which I believe Brian is using. I have BC's 2012-13 guide and it doesn't have a total anywhere I can find, but I added up the pre-Kelley, Snooks Kelley, Len Ceglarski, Steve Cedorchuk and Jerry York (through 2011-12) records and came up with a 1454-800-120 all-time record. When you add the last three seasons to that the record would be 1525-834-131 after last season (and currently 1539-838-133, which is different from USCHO's all-time record). Not having seen the BC media guide I have no idea where or why they have such a large discrepancy.

Also, I looked at USCHO's record for Snooks Kelley and it does not agree with his record according to BC, or for that matter, BU. USCHO only has him with 486 wins, but both BU and BC have his 500th victory against BU. To muddy the issue further USCHO has Kelley with 15 fewer wins, but BC with only 12 fewer wins, so they have 3 more wins somewhere else and I really don't care enough to find all the discrepancies in USCHO's BC season-by-season records.

BC publishes a media guide but BU quit doing so due to NCAA rules?!?!?

Wth!!!

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 2-move along! nothing to see here! all is w

Ha, funny you bring that up. Pretty sure the rule is about how big the guide can be because I have the one from this year and it's tiny. Think dimensions of a booklet, not a magazine (like it used to be).

Re: Boston University 2015-16 thread part 2-move along! nothing to see here! all is w

this is from 2010 so i'm not sure if things have changed since then:

3.4.1.1.2 Media Guide Restrictions. A printed media guide may have only one color of print inside the cover and may not exceed 8 1/2 by 11 inches in size and 208 pages in length. An institution may not produce a separate printed supplemental media guide. Any supplemental information (e.g., historical information, records) may be posted on the institution's Web site and may be printed in black and white, and provided to the media.

BC-BU games without students on campus is cluelessness at it's best.............someone called for new HE leadership somewhere, it's probably 10 years overdue

that's pretty funny. It was actually a decent sized local story when Snooks got #500...................................#go1000

This is really unbelievable. What could possibly be the reason for mandating black & white?

BU's publication is referred to as an "almanac". It's more compact than the Media Guides of the past. Roughly speaking, it contains the same information as the MG's; at least, by my observation.

Are the BC kids back? Or are they on the same schedule as BU?

Agree this is a stupid date to have it...
