Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

would he then have to text the fanboy blog both sides of the story then?? how would pirate spin that one.. i get dizzy just thinking about it.

Well, why don't you take a ridiculous starting point, like this CLEARLY shows Parker has lost the team or this CLEARLY shows he is unprofessional (after being in the position for 38 years) or he CLEARLY should have violated privacy laws and we can find out.

It isn't spin if the other person(s) has no idea what they are talking about and is dumb enough to take the most polarized position possible, it is just logic and experience in the face of blind bias and (if only there were a word for someone who thinks the world is one way when those who actually have experience know it is different) well, just good old fashioned stupidity.

Ask your best student reporter to ask York if he respects Jack Parker and the way he runs his program...don't take it from me, name a coach who has professed more respect for Parker than your very own coach.

You guys got caught up in Duke lacrosse fever and wanted to make the most of something that was sure to blow over...that's fine, but don't whine if you come over to a rival thread and people don't agree with every half-baked theory you are shoveling.

Sincerity is the key. Once you can fake that, the rest is easy.

Will the BU crowd chant "thank you seniors" after you guys beat Harvard tonight? ;)

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

Good morning folks. Just wanted to wish you guys good luck today against Harvard. Remember, your game is 4:30 and NOT 7:30!

Actually, BU fans, just so not to confuse any of you guys, the game starts at 12:30 am Baghdad Standard time...

There is nothing ridiculous about holding the opinion that Parker was unprofessional in his handling of the Glass situation. If you disagree (which we all know you do), fine. And *** are you talking about with privacy laws?

Don't know either one personally and don't know their relationship, but this is a specious argument. Even if York didn't, he wouldn't say it.

If you asked York about Parker, he'd give you a glowing answer. If you gave York sodium penathol before the question, my guess is you'd get something a little different. I think, to Jerry, Parker is that ultra competitive and angry friend who you have to take in small doses otherwise he drives you crazy.

Now your just making stuff up and putting it in people's mouths. Why don't we ask the coaches ourselves: (article from October 2010)

Parker got a reminder to slow things down from a familiar voice. Boston College's Jerry York, the only active college hockey coach with more wins than Parker, called his crosstown rival this summer to remind him to follow doctor's orders. You see, a few years back, York had a health scare of his own. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and one of the people who called him the most that summer was Parker.

"Jack was very instrumental in calling me and keeping me focused," said York. "Hopefully I did the same thing when Jack got that scare. He and I have talked a number of times."

Parker says that's one of the beauties of college hockey. Today, he might be battling York or another coach for a prized recruit. Tomorrow, that coach will be calling to check in on his health.

"I had more contact with [late University of Maine coach] Shawn Walsh after he got sick than I ever did before he got sick," said Parker. "I think that's the way we are in college hockey. One of the great things about our sports is we have a lot of guys that can be very competitive against one another and then be real friendly, too."

Parker is looking forward to the time when he can be a little more competitive and a little less friendly with these other coaches. That will mean he is all the way back and ready to lead the Terriers once again. If all goes well, that time is now just days away.

Sounds like they really hate each other.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

I can't say we'd deserve one.

I also can't say this isn't a real slap in the face.
