Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

Yeah, that BU-RPI thread really went to hell in a handbasket. What's amazing is that I actually agreed with them that BU was out of line at the end of the game, yet the minute I suggest that Parker is not in fact a disgrace to college hockey, I'm a fanboy, homer and all-around moron. They don't even realize how ignorant and fanboyish they themselves sound in almost every thread. The hypocrisy's hilarious.

The pot calling the kettle black at it's finest. Didn't you know? BC actually has many many more of the fanboy types than we will ever have... its just that they are usually not here. They are over on Eagle Action complaining about how they never get the calls from the Tobacco Road refs, or about getting shafted by the Bowl Selection Committie.

We dont have football, and basketball is realtively small for us... so our fanboys gravitate to the hockey team.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

The BC posters on this site are like a pack of chipmunks.

Whenever a chipmunk finds an acorn, he calls to his buddies who scurry over. They chirp wildly and tear at the acorn until all the meat is gone. They scatter until one of them finds another fresh acorn. The rest mince over and they cry and devour this acorn. And so on.

Jack Parker acts up and they prance over to the BU-RPI thread, cackle and tear at the thread for all its worth. If BC’s due to play UNH, they’ll rush over to the UNH thread to poke fun at the hayseeds for a while. If UML is next on the schedule, they’ll be sure to hurry to the UML thread to take some nasty shots at Blaise MacDonald.

Just like a pack of chipmunks.

Nice analogy. But you forgot the part where they lose two in a row and then scurry under a rock.

Big difference between crying, and everyone agreeing they don't like you and your buddies. For your own sake, I would suggest maturing enough to learn the difference.

Ah, I say give 'em a break.

Really, where else are they going to go? They've got the best team in the country over the last decade, and another strong one this year. And what do they do with their time? They creep around in other people's threads, complain that reporters on this site write too often about other teams, stomp around on how BU's coach has dark forces pulling all the strings, whimper that BU's coach yells too much, and -- my favorite so far this year -- complain that other teams get their photos on this website's homepage too often. You wouldn't see Kobe Bryant being a pathetic, grumpy whiner after such a strong decade. Wait, bad example.

In any event, their words speak for themselves. All we have to do is let them sit there. (And, you know, chuckle at them.)

It's nice to see that with only two weeks left in 2010, you two guys are making a strong push for fanboy post of the year. The whiny fanboy posts are the gift that keeps on giving all year long but I do appreciate the early Christmas present of long laughter you two gave us all with these two special posts. It warms my heart; it's like reading chicken soup for the soul for hockey fans.

Happy Holidays to all you BU fans this year. Be safe in you travels.

currently have the live stats up for the USA Juniors - RPI game and I noticed Nieto and Clendening are both playing but Coyle isn't (or at least that's what they have for the lines). they don't list kreider either, so i guess we can assume the fact that charlie isn't playing means he is more or less a lock?

Yeah, the guys not playing (Bourque, Coyle, Palmieri, Kreider, Merrill, Faulk, Ramage, Morin) are stone-cold locks.

Thank you for proving my point.

Nieto and Clendening cut from the US roster. Coyle makes the team.

Too bad for MN and AC but the BU team is better off for the holiday tourney.

A lot of times, guys come back from the tournament much improved. We may be better off for one week with Clendening and Nieto not on the WJC team but for the long run, I think we'd be better off if they did make it.

Re: Boston University 2010-11 part II - The Hunt For Red November

FL, didn't you hear from someone that Clendening was nearly a lock to make the team? Perhaps this might be a bit of a wakeup call to him to get his head out of his ***. His play was going downhill very fast over the last few weeks of the fall semester.

Yeah, he was the only player my source called a "lock" that ended up getting cut. Clendening was also reportedly injured in the exhibition last night when he went down to block a shot and didn't return to the game, so that probably had something to do with it too. No official word on the severity of the injury, but it's not believed to be more than a bad bruise. I'll find out for sure next week when I go to practice. Should also get official word on Connolly then.

Just curious, how many BC "posters" called Parker a "disgrace to college hockey"? Certainly wasn't how I formed my opinion on you.

Similar to eric, seems like you spend your time reading ALL the BC game threads, etc...

so to recap: we aren't allowed to read bu threads on a communal message board... but lurking around on BC only messageboards... totally legit!

ah, good old fanboy hypocrisy!

Holy Christmas, we're still talking about this? To answer your question, one. But that's not the point. I responded to the one idiot (Slasher) who called Parker a disgrace, and then all of a sudden you, Steve and the rest of the flock came swooping in calling me who knows what. What it comes down to is one person (Slasher) said Parker's a disgrace and another (me) said he's not. Now if a bunch of other people (all of you) jump into that debate, I assume it's because you're on one side or the other. And you clearly weren't on my side. I never said Parker was a saint, so I guess I'm still not sure why you all insisted on arguing with me unless you agreed with Slasher that he's a disgrace.

I apologize. I don't frequent this thread as much as some of you might think. I'd prefer you not lump me in with anyone. I simply presented my own views on what happened, the article written by Schott and your subsequent posts. I never said Parker was a disgrace to college hockey. There was a lot more to that thread than this one remark from Slasher. I'll leave it at that.

It was really more of a humorous tounge in cheek remark...

I would return your unsigned neg-rep but it appears I have to "spread it around" first (so at some ponit I must have given you pos rep since I have not sent out a neg rep in years) and I dont feel much like passing out rep to 20 some odd posters for that purpose.
