very, very good.
1. coyle's not too shabby.
2. they look re-energized. lots of hustle, great offensive passing.
3. no icing on the pp is ridiculously stupid. way too many extra stoppages that weren't necessary.
4. terrible night for the production staff upstairs.
I'm cautiously optimistic.

I hope this is a sign of great things to come as well, but lest we forget that Eric Gryba scored with a slapshot on target in his first exhibition game. We'll see how this pans out.

You know...FWIW, Rosen didn't look half bad at forward and where did that slapper come from? Granted he had 5 seconds to windup.
Coyle is the real deal, Nieto sure can pass.
Not too sure about Cisse. Doesn't look strong on the skates.

Clendening with 3 helpers looks pretty nice as well.

I thought Noonan and MacGregor looked pretty good. Nicastro, on the other hand, looked like crap. Wonder what his deal is. I think Coyle is going to contribute more his freshman year than Colin Wilson did.

Sometimes hard to tell in a game like this... but as most people mentioned, I liked what I saw on the ice... Coyle and Clandenning in particular...
Off the ice... I liked the new fries... and the new ice cream stand sure looks like it will help reduce the ice cream lines.. they certinally seemed better equipped.
Was there yet another change to the Jan game at Vermont? The handout tonight listed it as a Sunday game now? The Sept 21st schedule change announcement said it was just a game time change to 7:30.

Read through the last 4 or 5 posts, which have echoed my thoughts to some extent, before I could state them:
1. Coyle reminds me a lot of Wilson.
2. Nieto and Clendening should impact right away.
3. This team CAN be better than most think.
4. Toronto is NOT BC, or Wisconsin, or 95% of any NCAA teams, but, there is plenty of positives for this team going forward

Was it still Hood ice cream? I didn't wander over. I could smell the fried dough - mmmm, fried dough. What about the carving station? I heard about it, didn't see it though.
And yeah, the game production was off. I was watching the new intro - did I blink and miss the "5 National Championships" slide? I saw the others. And then when the lights went dark and they just introduced Crisco and then the screen went dark - I was like "Who's new here?" Unacceptable. Also, and you know I love them, the band didn't seem 100%. They didn't seem in sync a few times, and they were slow on a few songs. Is that because of the new director?
ETA.....I also heard the ice cream stand has fried Oreos. FRIED OREOS people.

Brighams! What was the pizza stand behind the band has been replaced by all ice cream... I assume they did that to increace the number of ice creams they can scoop throughout the game.
I didn't see the carving station either... was that perhaps where the pizza was on the Comm End ave of the rink? So... no pizza this year?!?!

No, pizza and the terrier grill were the same at the comm ave end. There is a cart above the SE corner with some kind of $8.75 roast beef sandwich or something.

And Guinness too!..... Although I'm not so sure how I feel about Guinness at a hockey game... maybe they should have gone for Molson Ice or something like that!
