Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

I hear Gryba is out 2 weeks - torn ratotor cuff - suffered Friday, played through it on Saturday, but the staff is advising him to sit out the next two weeks.

Just what I hear though.

Showing up to the press conference with a crapload of ice on it was kind of a giveaway that something was wrong. He claimed it was just "A little scratch. Nothing too serious." Needless to say, I didn't exactly buy that. I'll see if I can get any sort of confirmation tomorrow.

I hope they put Shatty in a bubble for his own protection!! Two of our three captains with shoulder injuries??

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

well this rotator cuff apparently didnt prevent him from going out to t's last night and enjoy himself without any type of sling or taped up shoulder per some pictures that popped up.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

They did. Parker's had his on almost every time I've seen him off the ice. Haven't seen too many players wearing them, though. Several departed players from last year's team have picked up their rings when they've come back for a game- Smolinsky against the U18 Team, Wilson against ND for those that I know of.

Nope. According to one of my sources, the 08-09 rings have not yet arrived. Jack is wearing the '94-'95 title ring, which is on the cover of the following season's media guide.

Side note Bomber....I got Batman's helmet. You're not going to the NU game by any chance? If not, I'll bring it to the next home game.

Greetings from Washington DC! Home of the 2009 Men's Division I National Championship, won in epic fashion by the Boston University Terriers! :)

Colin Wilson article on NHL.com

Great stuff, love the feeling of seeing Colin on the front page of the website!

"The next night, at TD Bank Garden, where BU won the NCAA championship on April 12 by stunning Miami of Ohio with a stirring comeback, Wilson pushed Patrice Bergeron off the puck in one end and swept in his first NHL goal in the other end 6:27 into the second period."

You would think they would fact check a little better than this!

At least they got the teams right...ahem, Sports Illustrated

(SI did a piece on UAH in which they talked about the 2009 National Champions, Bemidji State Beavers)

Alright. Then NESN was wrong. They clearly stated that Wilson got his ring when he showed up for the ND game.

Besides the location AND the date... I think my biggest problem is that somehow the comeback was only "stirring." I could go for some stronger prose there!

For those of you still looking, Agganis has NU tickets even though the NU box office sold out.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread Part the One

BU dropped to 7th in the USCHO poll. Can't say we didn't deserve it, but I feel much more comfortable as a 7th spot team than a top 5.

Your source is wrong. Gryba's practicing right now and is "day-to-day with a shoulder injury". He's expected to play this weekend.

"...that was sort of a wakeup call for him because I don't think anybody has benched him for a while."

Oh yes, he's been benched recently. :p It was either during the BC or UML games at the Garden, right?

I was also told before the game that he was getting his ring that night. I guess my source could've been wrong, though.

It also said he received his ring on the NHL.com sidebar on that article.

A more realistic spot given where BU is right now. In fact I would say around #10. It will set the team's heads back on straight and a gives this young team some goals to move back up on their own merit instead of on last year's accomplishments.

I have two open seats for the trip to Maine if anyone's interested. Just be warned that we're gonna be writing from there after the game, so we won't be leaving until an hour or an hour and a half after the game ends. Feel free to shoot me an email: scottm89@bu.edu
