I think you mean "The Quite Storm".

The title was edited, and the "latter" issue has been fixed, but the URL apparently can't be changed and still says "quitely." :D

I also love that there's a poll on this. I'm suprised most people haven't gone for the Other option, which could easily mean "Who the heck is this," "Why can't you spell," "Stop spamming, you're a tool," or "What about your undisclosed brain problem?"

I think the poster is the kid. Why else would there be such an obsession with him? Especially since no one else has ever heard of this kid.

There's no way anything about this thing is real, including the kid. Even a young person lacking all experience who aspires to be a sports journalist knows that you include the name of the high school, or his record number of points, or his injury. And I highly doubt a high school league keeps stats on hits. I bet it's a poster on this message board who just wanted to see if he could get people to believe his story for ****s and giggles. Or someone experimenting or trying to prove a point about internet/recruiting rumors.

Didn't see it ,but any road win in HE this time of year is a good one. Next weekend's back to back with Maine (haven't forgotten Monday) looms large for a whole bunch of reasons. Great time of the year for hockey fans!

Great win tonight. It was great to see the defensive corp have one of their best games this season. Gryba, Shatty, and Warso were all pretty lockdown in our own zone. Even Nicastro and Escobedo stepped up their game.

Lowell's quick goal was probably the best thing that happened that game. Woke us up and let the team know that they would have to really skate.

My one big concern was the number of times we had a clear, easy chance to clear the puck out of our zone, whether it was even strength or on the PK, and we either whiffed on the puck, made half-contact, or shot it into a Riverhawk's chest. Thankfully our defense was solid enough to block most of the shots and Millan handled any that got through, but if we do that against BC on Monday, they'll be sure to convert the second chances we give them.

But still: .500!

This is true, but Lowell also is probably the best team in hockey east at boards play, pestering the team trying to clear the zone, and keeping it in at the blue line. They absolutely killed us last year in the HECG at this.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

the number of shots we blocked in the third tonight was incredible. props to the team for playing a very complete defensive game. (if you dont count the first 22 seconds, or a power play where we left a man on our post alone for a tip in.) in any case, here's hoping colby is in action for monday night, the scoring threat from the blueline, especially on the PP, was missing tonight. 3 in a row, a .500 record, and another notch in the TUC belt feels pretty good.

BU Hockey: 7-2-0 in '10

(Next three games? A whole 'nother matter.)

I'm still amazed considering how poor our record was that we own a 4:1 tiebreaker ratio. Now we just need to lockup that Maine tiebreaker over the weekend...

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

practice thing? no colby = terrible powerplay = very shorthanded for monday.

Hey, shorthanded worked fine for us last night, so maybe thats the plan.;)

Colby was walking around the game 100% normally, so while that doesn't mean much as to the extent of the injury (since the injured body part isn't even public at this point) I'm hopeful we can see him on Monday. Hell, if he can barely skate I'd still dress him and play him at forward on the PP, and just play 5 D like we basically did all night. FL or BU Hammer, do you get ice time reports in your bag of media goodies? How many shifts did Rosen have in the 2nd and 3rd periods. If the over under is 5, I'd go under.

Yup, next 3 games are absolutely massive. For HE, 4 points out of home ice, with 1 game in hand; for PWR, as of the current standings we'd need to pick up 7-8 more pairs to claim the projected last at large slot and if we gain .0100 in RPI we would flip about 3-5 pairs; and of course the first trophy is on the line Monday night.

Re: Boston University 2009-2010 Season Thread III: From the Beanpot until the end...

If Colby wasn't 100% but could play limited PP minutes, I'd be more of a fan of sitting Santana, going with a rotating winger for the 4th line spot and having Colby dressing as an extra defenseman with Rosen still in the lineup. Just feel like replacing a fourth line wingers limited minutes are easier than replacing a 6th defenseman's minutes.
