He is slated to enroll at BC for the fall of 2016 NOT 2017. He is currently a junior in high school.
If so won't help the team. 2017

:52 second mark. Filthy goal by Alex Tuch.

This would beg the questions...You have no idea what you are talking about. Trust me it is 2016. And if he is not at BC in 2016 he won't be there in 2017 - too many other schools were in the running for 2016.
This would beg the questions...
1. with so many schools interested, why did he choose BC?
2. if he is asked to defer until 2017, why would he be so eager to take his ball and go home?
kid would have to be projected high pick and play usndpt. otherwise those types are almost always pushed to do a post-grad year. if you are coming in and wanted to play as a true freshman 18yo, you better be ready.

Steve Santini released from US National Junior Team roster…most likely due to not being fully healthy.
I'd say more than just likely. Seems they waited till the very end to pull the plug because they really wanted him to be on the team. Tough break for Santini, but glad he'll be back playing for BC soon.
1. Best combination of school and hockey on the East coast - 1st choice.
That is not the first time I've seen that he has said that. It's kind of common knowledge that he grew up a big BC fan. They just had an interview with Eichel during the US-Canada game and he said he always wanted to go to BC growing up but BU was a better fit when he had to decide. I'm surprised he would say that and I wonder what the reasons were. It's rare you get that kind of honesty nowadays from an athlete.

Some speculation on the reason. It is rumored that he told BU prior to committing that he would give them one year. Jerry may have wanted a minimum 2 or 3 year commitment. If true, more honesty and integrity on Eichel's part.
wonder why jrrrrry would have insisted on that. he has had (and won with) 1yr guys before. it seems a given, especially if you want to compete for those highly talented true freshmen.
Oh sure, test the old guy's memory, but IIRC, Kobasew leaving after his frosh year in 2001 is the only one that comes to mind, for hockey reasons anyway. Most BC/NHL'ers have given Jerry 3 years, some just two and some four.wonder why jrrrrry would have insisted on that. he has had (and won with) 1yr guys before. it seems a given, especially if you want to compete for those highly talented true freshmen.
