Wow despite how they've been up and down all year, from game to game, they're ranked #10 right now.

They don't have anyone flashy this year but it is encouraging Tuch is starting to light it more. Hopefully by next year, we'll have more scoring depth and hard to be believe already, Calnan and Gilmour will be juniors. I like our size but we need more speedy small guys to balance it out it seems. I'm hoping guys like Woods and others can add depth on offense. We will be graduating that class that has produced minimal scoring: Linell, Straight, Sit, Spriro, Smith

With this lineup they are scraping out there and putting together I think they'll be fortunate to get a W against anyone unless they can stay out of the box.

Senior night tonight?

what you don't like intentionally dressing 5 D and moving arguably our most consistent Dman to forward?

Re: Boston College Season 2014 - 2015 Thread: PART I

I'm sorry to dump on 'em but I can't believe that a 7 senior class(which says something in and of itself ) had just about zero impact on the team during their careers . If 2-3 freshman pan out next year that's a huge improvement and watch out . 1-0 BC early in this tonight

I'm watching the stream. Are the camera views always this bad? Zoomed in too much from center ice cameras, jump to cameras behind the glass in corners and behind the net almost every time, even to detriment of viewing. The BC goal was pretty much missed because they switched to that end zone camera.

There is a thread in eagle action about this. I don't kniw because I'm usually at the game

Can't take much more of this...absolute joke from the refs tonight

I know but I'm sitting here remembering when BC hockey had you on the edge of your seat with speed and talent on 4 lines. This team's top line would be the 4th line on most of the teams of the last 17 years

Matheson clearly gets tripped...no call

And then they call BC for a trip. Pathetic.

Re: Boston College Season 2014 - 2015 Thread: PART I

one day the refs will realize by refusing to call penalties so that they 'don't have an impact on the game', they're having an impact on the game....

fun game

thought the penalty kill looked the best it has in a while

the powerplay goal by mccoshen was awesome, pure talent across the board

The two goals given up make you want to pull your hair out

Grant summarized the game well. It took BC way too long to ratchet up their intensity. That and the dumb penalties killed their chance of winning a winnable game against a solid Lowell team.

I'm sure it doesn't help the team to play these home games in a morgue-like atmosphere. (Is there anywhere lese where such a big crowd makes so little noise? There must have been about 6500-7000 people there tonight, and a ton of students, and yet it was a library in there.) But that shouldn't really impact them -- the urgency of the moment should be enough.

Two things making me optimistic at the moment:

1) Harvard is really circling the drain right now and hopefully they'll be mentally checked out for that 4:30 PM game on Monday. This is a must win game for BC. The pairwise difference between winning and losing is stark.

2) This team clearly has a "switch," which we saw turned on against UConn, the Mack, Providence, and at BU of course -- and in the third period and OT tonight in which BC outshot UML 20-6 (!!!). So if they can figure out a way to get the switch on for 60 minutes they can make a little run here.

The fact of the matter is, this team has some good pieces, but little margin for error. They need to bring the battle level for 60 minutes every night and limit their mistakes. They haven't been doing that since the Beanpot opener and it's showed in the results. They still have time to get their game back to where it was in January, but only barely. Monday would be a good time to start.
