Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

saw three separate instances where demko was slashed and it was obvious the UMD player wasn't going for the puck. Sandelin looks like a bit of a goon/meathead so I'm not surprised.

Definitely a hairy, edge of your seat 10 minutes, becoming hairier and edgier when Woods took that stupid penalty right after UMD pulled their goalie.

I don't know how Duluth played during their previous games but it's my opinion(and I'm sticking to it)that last night they played dirty, chicken s*it hockey. 2 penalties after taking runs at Demko, Demko complaining to a referee about a no call which I've never seen him do and a UMD player getting a 2 minute boarding penalty which imo could have been a 5 min major.

While cheap and stupid that is a rarity for UMD. You guys are taking a couple examples from one game and extrapolating on them a whole season or coaching career. They were doing whatever they could to get to Demko and try to win the game. Haven't seen those kind of plays from them as long as I've been a fan.

Thankfully BC won't have to wait for PC to try and put the puck in the ocean

Read again what I wrote.

Last night was the first time I'd ever seen them play and last night was what I was referencing.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Quite the FF field, 4 of the top 6 in pwr. By that measure, has to be best field in a while. BC enters as a slight underdog and that's fine with me.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Good matchups in the semis for Tampa and BC has the 5 PM game

OK time to get my flight plans ready and itinerary:)

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Savage really made some nice plays this weekend, setting tuch up against harvard and then fitzgerald last night.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

glad you brought up savage. I'm not sure if the numbers bear this out but he really has improved his play from where he was 2 years ago.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Savage is one of those swing players. You know what you're going to get from Santini/McCoshen/Fitzgerald but if Savage can play well you're in good shape to bring home a W and if doesn't it makes life more difficult for sure.

I guarantee you these guys are going to have some good practices in the next two weeks and look good in Tampa.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I agree. I have a good feeling with Jerry having 2 weeks to fine tune things going into Tampa.
I like the Semi matchup. Should be a great game. Should be a great FF. Four very good teams with up tempo styles.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Typical whine, even when you win. Nice. Glad you clarified what a goon/meathead looks like. :)

There's a difference between playing hard-nosed hockey and resorting to cheap-shots. Saturday night featured a lot of the latter. Just because BC won doesn't mean it's not a valid observation.

I will admit that I haven't seen much of UMD so I don't know how they "normally" play. Maybe I'm wrong (can't remember anything specific) but for some reason I remember feeling similarly the last time these two teams met in 2012.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Quinnipiac is going to be one tough opponent. I was very impressed watching them last night, particularly in that second period. That is a deep, balanced, well-rounded team. It's not hard to see how they put up the record they did.

It will take BC's "A" game for a full 60 minutes to come away with a win in this one.

If they were playing 1993 Maine, you'd find a way to try to sandbag them.

And if the BU team that played against Quinnipiac showed up at the end of the season, you and your fellow BU fans might not be licking your wounds right now.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Quinn has some free time. Maybe York can call and ask for insight on how to play the Bobcats.
