Boston College: It's Trophy Time

Flashback...
A year ago, Santiguida starts in net against our Eagles and we light him up for 4 goals before Hoffman takes over. Hoffman allows just one goal the rest of the series and VT advances to the Garden.

Saw Santiguida starting in net last nite and turn to my buddy... 'this is going to be easy tonight'. Sure enough, the first goal was a beauty, but the next two the Eagles get 2 of the softest goals one has ever seen. In comes the backup goalie, a frosh the size of a house. Shuts us down for 34.5 minutes. W_T_F???

C'mon Eagles! Take care of business!

They beat Munson twice in Burlington.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

to keep it fair y'all really should let them skate an extra guy all night....

Always with the negative waves, Moriarty.

he's hard to please:p;)

He could depress Mother Theresa!
I was there, all 3 games, 2015. FARK!
I forget all about that stuff. . . put it right out of the memory bank pronto. Until a few days back when I read that we lost to VT in 3 last year. I'm like, oh yea, duh, that did happen. But I don't remember the details.
Then. . . last night. . . deja vu. . . CHIT! I saw last year all over again, plain as day right in front of my face, when that big lug skated onto the ice and into the net. I now remember quite clearly what happened a year ago.

I'm jumping off a frickin' bridge if that chit happens again. Holy crap would that suck!
Go Eagles!!!

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I sincerely hope McCoshen getting the gate in the last minute doesn't result in him missing tomorrow. I know it was a game misconduct rather than a game disqualification, but that doesn't stop Hockey East from reviewing it and imposing supplemental discipline.

...and McCoshen suspended by Hockey East for one game. I knew it, I frickin' knew it! Less than one minute from being home free...

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

One of the best 20 minutes all year followed by whatever you'd like to call the last 40. If the best players play like they did tonight, vermont will be moving on. Very disappointing. Like BC expected vermont to pack it in down 2-0.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

No worries. The bridge I'm jumping off is only 18" off the ground and has about a 1/2" of water running under it, and that's only after it rains. Life goes on.

My sweet Christ that was terrible. I really have my doubts about a good result happening tomorrow.

This team has talent but still lacks creativity for the most part.

Generally this team responded at each turn in the season when they needed to. Tomorrow night will be a big one. Not reaching the Garden is simply an embarrassment for this program. You don't take it for granted but it was embarrassing two years in a row and now here we are having to worry about bad things happening in threes. Incomprehensible.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

When you play a team like vermont, you should expect problems trying to make plays up the ice. In turn, need to be able to chip pucks in and use speed to get on their defense. That was non existent as the game went on. Vermont had very little trouble breaking the puck out. And as i alluded to, some of BCs best players were absolute non factors in this game. Invisible.

Championship teams should be able to bury this vermont team when up 2-0 after one.

Take a page out of uvm's book if you have to. They were crashing demko all night. Do business as business is being done.

Re: Boston College: It's Trophy Time

I wouldn't lose your minds y'all. We get to feel good for a night and maybe have some hope going into next season, and you get to see that your team isn't invincible. I'd be pretty shocked, however, if we're the team advancing to the Garden. Not impossible, but it'd be 10 times the upset of last year.

Puhleeeze.
Exactly. I hope the boys went out and partied hardy last night. Why waste a good Saturday night on a stupid little loss? This 15-21-3 Vermont team will lay down for the #1 seed Eagles today. And someone tell that goaltender he ain't supposed to beat BC. Geezuuuuussssss. . . whats the matter with that guy? Get with the program.

FWIW. . . Eagles let VT hang around Friday. Virtually a 1-0 game, but Santa gave us 2. Vermont did not quit in that one and Demko saved our azz.
Vermont gives up 2 last night and could have rolled over. They just kept coming and coming and refused to quit again. Eagles took 40 minutes off. Got what they deserved.
I don't see a recovery today. I think VT smells blood and advances to the Garden. All the talent in the world isn't going to help if your heart is not into it. Vermont wants it more. JMHO.

Sorry, but if you didn't witness BU's "effort" last night, you haven't seen terrible.
