Let's hope, we have had a number of brother acts at BC in recent years and they have all worked out very well.

Is it not working because it has the wrong frigging opponent listed?

The Dartmouth version of gamecast says the BC is winning 1-0 though it shows it as Kevin Hayes' first goal and he's already scored one. Can always use http://twitter.com/bcsportsnews. In a shocker, they actually tweeted a WIH result. I guess they were waiting for a loss.

BC is up 2-0 and outshooting them 16-10, period one over, both PPG's. K Hayes and Gibbons.

Huge to get out of this weekend with 2 wins. I don't care who the opponents were.

It's about at this point, when the calendar turns over into the new year, where BC starts to steam-roll and the rest of the league goes, 'Uh-Oh.'

Oh yeah...almost forgot the obligatory 'Bwahahahahahahahaha!'

While 'Past performance is not a guarantee of future success,' we've seen this movie enough to sniff a trend when we see one.

I wonder if York will keep Carey on the first line considering how well he and that line in general have been playing lately? Then you would have a pretty good 3rd line of the Whitney brothers and Bill Arnold. Either way, this team is loaded and I don't see them losing more than a few games, maybe 3-4, the rest of the way.

Wouldn't be surprised to see J. Whitney at D until Patch returns. Then I think (hope) we'll see Whitney back with Cam and Gibbons. Those 3 guys really click.
I'm wondering what he does with the Hayes line? Do you put Kreider at LW and K. Hayes to center, or keep it with K. Hayes/Mullane/J. Hayes. I wouldn't mind seeing a Kreider/Arnold/Carey line.
So many options. Will be fun to see it unfold.

After the WJC's, we'll have 6 D-men, so doubt they would keep Whitney back there; unless of course Cross gets hurt again. The options certainly are plentiful and one way or another, we should be able to skate 3 strong scoring lines.

Completely agree. I trust Melissa heard York correctly in that Alber will only be out for about three more weeks...that's a relief. Will sure look nice to see Cross, Dumoulin, Wey, Kreider and K. Hayes Friday night. Another good thing is that the WJC participants will only have to travel from Buffalo and not some European country.

I'm strictly looking at this upcoming weekend series against Providence. I fully expect BC to win at home Friday and then would anticipate a much tougher game down in Providence. If BC wins Friday to quietly improve to 14-5, that would be their best start since maybe the 2005-2006 season.

Looks like BC is the only "big four" team to get out of the new year's tourneys unscathed. BU lost to Brown (and tied ND), UNH lost to St Lawrence, and Maine lost to Miami. ECAC teams are looking strong this year.

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

One quick question ... I have a lot of respect for York. He seems like a good coach, from what I can gather. Why: "We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Everyone."

Re: Boston College Hockey 2010-2011, Part II - We Still Have Jerry York. Sorry, Every

Read: "we still have Jerry York, so suck it." It's less an apology and more a (rightful) expression of dominance.

Ah, so sorry as in sorry everyone else. Yeah, that makes more sense.

From what I can gather, you're not from around here and never followed college hockey until this year.

It's not too far from the truth. I came from a far southern land where the only ice was made in our refridgerators. But I managed to get free season tickets to BU hockey in 2008-09 and went to every home game that year and have been learning about the game since then. So, three seasons in. Still learning about it and enjoying it though.

Oh, and I wanted to add, while I enjoy the rivalry between BU/BC, I have respect for your team, which obviously is excellent.
