XCel Energy Center is also half empty for the NCHC Tournament. Watching it now. The attendance issue is really becoming serious all around the country.

I was there for the first part of the 2nd game as well and UMass fans did seem to file in and at least give the place some atmosphere. Even so there were multiple sections with basically not one person.

I posted this in the BU thread as well, but with the pricing at the garden it’s no wonder nobody goes. A Molson Canadian is $13.50. A slice of crappy pizza is $11. I mean Come on... what a rip off. That really might be my last garden event ever.

Good stuff through 40. Now you prepare for a UMass onslaught but you can't go into a shell. Push forward when it makes sense and try to add another goal. There's no way this team should have lost 20+ games this year.

That was impressive. And a reminder that the fact this team lost 20 games is embarrassing.

But it's right in front of them now. I still have a hard time thinking they will deliver another game like tonight but I had them dead in the QFs.

Yeah, very well played by BC . Can’t seem to believe they can do it again against the team I thought would win this tournament but you gotta play the game . Good showing by UMass students . Good luck to them, this tournament needs them here .

It's like I said four months ago regarding BU (based on their winning the tourney last year). When you have talent, they tend to play best in the biggest games. You can never count them out. If BU has Farabee tonight they probably win. Unfortunately, it can be very frustrating to watch when they go through the motions. But that's the two-edged sword you have to accept. A team of lesser talented players, or grinders, might give 110% every night. It's just not gonna happen with the top talented teams. You've got guys that have played in national and world tournaments and they're just not going to get up for Merrimack three times a year. It's either that or a team of no blue-chippers and draft choices. Players that stay for four years but never win anything. At least your talent gives you a chance every night, and that's all you can ask for. I wouldn't be surprised at all if BC wins tomorrow night (and I said that a month ago). I know you can "tease" us when we call you sandbaggers, but the reality is you still have some of the best talent in the league. Your huge defensemen completely smothered UMass tonight and they can do the same tomorrow also.

Honestly I didn’t think BC could hold on with just 1 goal and I had serious doubts when they did nothing with the 2-man advantage

Somehow they managed and the EN goal brought a sigh of relief

Hard to believe they can qualify if they can manage one more win

It’s not too often you see a 21 lost team get into the NCAA if they beat NU tomorrow

BC has some huge forwards but most of the defensemen are undersized

It’s ok either way. Playing with house money and you knocked BU out . I have no complaints.

I felt that this was a very winnable game for them and they they did it. Hustko with an assistant and solid defense, with Woll being a wall. They had the benefit of a quick whistle but the better team won tonight. Congrats, won more and everyone is on equal footing. Remember a few years ago Yale was the last team in and they turned it into a Nattie.

Unbelievably well-played game from BC. They executed and stayed disciplined, very few penalties, very few mistakes. Woll was obviously great. Cotton was on a completely different planet and was the best skater on the ice for either side tonight. Hutsko looked great as well. And after that I'd say McLaughlin was the next best player for BC. This is a dude to keep an eye on.

BC seemed better from the get-go tonight, I don't think Umass played terribly to be honest, I thought they also played well, just good disciplined hockey from the two clubs (where has this been from BC all season!?)... Faceoffs... big problem, need to work on that.

Anyway, IDK how we match up with NU but I think BC is finally figuring out how to put it all together and could give them a run tomorrow night.

It was an interesting night at the Garden.
