That’s nice but they also need an upgrades on defense

Here's an exercise to help BC fans keep their head in the game these days...
* 1. Count the number of times BC connects on 3 consecutive passes before a broken play, turnover or dump in.
* 2. Count the number of times the other team connects on 3 consecutive passes.

Sterlippo thought up with this great idea during last nights BC/Lowell snoozer.
Warning... if you are already suffering from depression, this an't gonna help.

Yet another disappointing effort. A now a trip to Lowell tonight, which has always been difficult for BC even in the best of times. These are not the best of times.

Well, it doesn't help that they've mastered taking the "chase" out of "dump and chase"

I should note that Lowell certainly didn't impress either, just a dreadful hockey game to watch.

No kidding. I was at the BU/ASU game tonight and bU and BC are identical at dump and suck. ASU beat them all night long to dumped pucks, and to pucks anywhere on the ice.

Amazing how similar the two Boston schools are in the way they play the game. Could this have anything to do with where the recruits are coming from ?It certainly isn't any fun to watch. ASU on the other hand... very fun to watch. Hustle every shift, tic-tac-toe passes up the ice, no dumping of passes to no one. Real Hockey with good hockey players. They play the game like BC teams of yesteryear.

My new game plan... going to travel the circuit watching teams that play a good brand of hockey. There's none of that at either end of Comm Ave right now. I'll be at BU next week however to see UMass. I want to see them, but I can't be at their game vs BC (thank God!), so I'll get to see them next Friday.

Final thought...How did the Eagles, the team as a whole, become so slow? Speed used to be the hallmark of Jerry York teams. Not anywhere near that today.

I can understand taking a penalty that might help prevent a goal but how do you take a roughing penalty with under three minutes to go when you're trying to protect a one goal lead? Blew a golden opportunity to be in sole possession of 2nd place (amazingly). Not that it will matter but still annoying.

Lack of discipline has been an ongoing issue for quite awhile now.

Steve, they just don't have the talent they used to have and it shows on the ice.

There's not enough talent and not enough depth no matter how the coach sugar coats it.

Lack of discipline, lack of urgency, lack of many things including intangibles.

I hope I'm wrong but I just don't see them going anywhere this year. They have to win the HE Tournament to get into the NCAA and I don't see that happening.

You can't score when you don't shoot the puck on net.

The defense is horrific and break downs and turnovers kill. They did their best to give the game away on Friday after building a 4-1 lead.

Other than mentioning HE, If I didn't know what thread I was in I could guess you are writing about MN, UMi, BC, UMD, or Wis. Surprising to see them all in a situation where they pretty much need to win their conference tourney just to make the NCAA.

Understand but we played well vs BU somehow. Northeastern is going to skate circles against this Eagles team . No contest except that we do have a goalie that has the ability to steal one. I just don’t see it though . ..........and I couldn’t pull the trigger , I was rooting for Huskies .

NU just about played how I want a BC team to play. NU outshot BU 2-1 and was tenacious forechecking and following up on rebounds. They played very smart.

18 shots will not do next week in the final. Puck possession and jumping out to a lead is important for BC.
