BC's problem was more transition. Defense seemed fine. A couple facepalm clearing attempts that got intercepted, but that happens to a lot of good teams that play aggressively. It's not like Maine established much of a forecheck.

Linell was actually pretty good at getting back. He single-handedly broke up a 2x1 that seemed destined to increase the lead.

Obviously one game is a really small sample. You guys know better than some Maine fan in Indiana who's forced to rely on fuzzy, stretched-out-of-proportion standard def broadcasts on FCS...

5-4 with 3:50 to go in the 3rd. BC with two goals in 27 seconds. They're now going on the PP.

So now that Coach York has admitted defensive breakdowns, will those posters who blame Billett refocus their areas of concern? Not even the wunderkid could shine with the weak defense in front of him. Serviceable goalie you say, not even a Vezina finalist can shine with BC's defense, and it is not the 2 on the blueline, team defense, 5 skaters, with a plan, not evident now. The stat most important stat is wins, not points per game. Too many guys trying to out-do J.G., not enough trying to win playing defense. Now that Demko lost Coach York sees the defense that Billett has had to work with and so should this thread.
