BOSTON COLLEGE 2025 - 2026

Yea so, let's have a few thoughts but not too many:
- UVM played a near perfect game tonight. They deserve a lot of credit.
- It was clear we were in for a long night after the first PP.
- The building was dead, students filled the sections behind the nets and the entire upper area of the balcony was pretty much empty. Sad.
- I'm having a hard time finding a game in my memory that was this bad. I'm sure there are some more recent ones, but I go back to 2000 when a completely terrible UMass team beat the bag out of BC one night at Conte 5-1 and also the early season 7-2 beatdown from UML (also terrible at the time) in 2001-2002 when all the good players left after the national title. In other words, this was a historically bad, Hall of Shame night tonight.
- Greg Brown doesn't have it. Cloutier doesn't have it. This team is going nowhere with those two. Even a win on Monday isn't going to really change this. Forget about the excitement of getting Hemming added (he didn't do much tonight) or potentially getting Jellvik back (yea right) and their rise in NPI and potential. Brown. Cloutier. This team is done.
- Long-term, it's obvious Greg Brown is not the guy.
- This team is poorly coached.
- Greg Brown is not the guy.
Just a bad game all around, started when Minnietian let Kesseler fly right by him in the first few minutes. The compete level was just not there for BC and VT played a complete game. Hard to think of anyone on the Eagles who played well. Their best play was challenging a goal that was kicked in, beyond that not too much to cheer about.

Trapped by a "Trap Game"? Would be interesting to see how BC has fared in games immediately preceding the Beanpot when BC was playing in the final.

I haven’t been following BC very closely, but I’m curious if the regulars on this thread think that Letourneau is going pro next year. It would appear to be a possibility based on his stats. I think it may also depend on whether Sweeney thinks he would benefit more from another year in HE or with the baby B’s. I assume Hagens will be gone.

It seems like it is 50/50 proposition, doesn't seem like he is ready for the bigs, he is only 18 (?) two year out of high school but may be they will want him to play more games with the PBruins. i assume Hagens is gone as well although not sure he is ready for the grind of pro hockey.

Just when you thought they were about to embark on a run and move up into a NCAA 2 seed, they drop this dud and it makes you wonder if they will even qualify for it now.

Thanks for your take on this!

I don't see it happening at this point. Another QF loss at Conte looks like the most likely scenario. The upcoming BC-UConn series will likely be for the 2nd at-large spot for the league (pending upsets) and once we consider those "big games" you know Greg Brown is going to choke and he'll get significantly outcoached.

One positive from last night is that there was concern that Monday would be BU's Super Bowl given the NPI situation (their OT home win didn't really move the needle) and BC would have bigger fish to fry after Monday but it is now clear that Monday is the Super Bowl for both programs this season so there is some equal footing here now.

I thought that BC had turned a corner and was starting to build some consistency, but it’s clear they are still an immature team. GB has to deliver on Monday night. He has an upperclass team with skill and size. Time to bring home a pot and another HEA Tournament Championship.

I think Minnetian is overworked and trying to do too much leading to uncharacteristic turnovers. Put M Hagens back on defense, he can move the puck and take up some minutes to give Minnetian some rest during the game.

Go Eagles!🦅
