Well, there goes the perfect season. Is there someone on the 1993 Maine team who is analogous to Mercury Morris?

Either way, someone needs to give Cronin a call.

Maine lost 1 game in 93 to BU!

disappointing to say the least but not necessarily a bad thing in the overall scheme of things........only 5 shots in the 3rd with what 4 or 5 penalties in that period ? certainly room for improvement, lots IMO. well, at least we get a home game finally and raise that banner and try to get back on track. still 3-1 with those 4 away games isn't a bad start

I thought they were something like 42-0-1. Whatever. Change my comment to 1970 Cornell.

After four games they have committed 32 penalties. They need to get their house in order and stay out of the box.

Off topic, but on the Eagle Action message boards there is a poster named Simmonaa who posts every now and then. Under every one of his posts is about a 5 second clip of a smokin hot babe walking across a stage on what looks to be a Spanish game show. Does anyone know who she is?

Had a nice talk with Matt Price earlier today who said Coach York will have no problem getting angry and yelling about it to them. I don't know about you all, but the mental image of that gives me chills. I wouldn't want to be these guys during film sessions this week.

USCHO seems to be speculating that Miami will jump us and go from No. 3 to No. 1. That's hogwash in my opinion. 3-1 in four road games trumps Miami's 3-1-1 in this case, especially considering how close are only loss was, how well we played the other three games, and the fact that all three teams we played were tough teams. I mean a 9-1 win over Northern Michigan? Give me a break.

we WANT Miami to be #1! i'd like us to sink to 5 or something, though we wont drop that far i don't believe...........

I agree. Polls at this stage are meaningless. I mean, it isn't like BC was going to go undefeated or anything. The effect of a close Away loss to a very good team is a whole lot better than a Home loss to a mediocre team. BC may not be 'First' this week, but they'll have a bunch of First-Place votes.

Who cares? It's only October.

close Away loss to a very good team
I don't know if Notre Dame is a "very good team" anymore.

Exactly. How good can they be? They lost to BU. :)

So by the transitive property, did we just lose to BU? Crap...

It's going to be fun to see how many goals this team scores this year. I believe the Hockey East regular season record for team goals (conference games only) is held by BC's 86 team with 203. I can see them breaking that this year.

now they only have to score 21 vs mc sat to get back on track

Re: Boston College 2010-2011 In-Season Thread: Long Live The "Eagle" Empire!

Doesn't that say Hockey East regular season record? You are incorrect again. Although I do not believe they will challenge the record due to the league being much better than 1986, I do have to chime in at your pathetic attempt at a dig. There are 27 HE regular season games, which means they would need to score 7.5 goals a game. With one HE game already played, and 2 goals scored in that game, the total number of goals needed is 201 in 26 games. (7.73 goals per game)

So, you are very wrong. BC only needs 15.46 goals this weekend to get back on track. Grab yourself a calculator, it's not that tough. Or better yet, keep posting meaningless digs with incorrect data, that seems to suit you best.

I agree with you, but also agree with other posters. Let's let Miami be #1. The more important thing here is that we root for ND and Denver to do well. So far, so good.

I don't know if Notre Dame is a "very good team" anymore.

I don't know about this. Given the debacle of a season they had last year, they're off to a good 4-1 start with some winnable games coming up against Western Michigan and Bowling Green. There's still a lot of talent on their roster.

Is there truth to the nasty rumor that they've hired Vanilla Ice for the Ice Jam tomorrow?

Re: Boston College 2010-2011 In-Season Thread: Long Live The "Eagle" Empire!

I think ND is a good team that will use their victory over BC as a catalyst for continued improvement going forward.

ND consistent pressure down low on our defensive group lead to many less clean breakouts and speed leaving our defensive zone.
ND also made their stand at their own blueline instead of retreating deep into their own zone defensively making it difficult for BC forwards to enter the offensive zone with speed and numbers.
ND performed well on PK and did effectively finish their 5-3 PP which no one else has successfully done against the Eagles this season.

All that said the Eagles only lost 2-1 and had many opportunities to tie and or win the contest. Lots of good will come from this weekend for the Eagles from a developmental perspective. Their full potential remains a scary thought.

Miami has earned it and will be #1 for most of the season.
The Eagles, meh... we can't skate with Miami.

Does the banner raising ceremony begin at 7pm on Friday? Or does the game begin at 7pm on Friday? Which would move the banner raising to 6:45 or 6:50.
