Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

I like Silk a lot on the 2nd line and think he needs to be playing with some talented linemates to get his confidence back. He may never be an All-American, but he's got talent and I think he can become a legit goal scorer at this level. When Straight comes back, put him with Linell and Brown on the 3rd line, which would have a little more scoring punch than we've seen from the other 3rd line combos. Sit, Smith and Dyroff are not offensive guys and would be a good defensive 4th line. If you really wanted to get crazy, you could move Brown to the 1st line and have a 3rd line of Straight/Linell/Whitney, which would definitely put some points up. The only question being how much Brown would slow down the 1st line? This is where we really miss Vatrano, as we are just about one skill guy away from being able to cobble together 3 legit scoring lines.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

I said this on EA, but not having Straight for a stretch has been a positive. While it's not a deep team, they can get by without him for a few weeks during this part of the schedule with only one game left before the break. It's given a lot of different guys opportunities to play a bigger role. This can only help as the season goes along. I think now we're at a point where you're at least comfortable with the bottom six so to speak. They won't score a lot, but they are showing they can chip in the occasional goal and hold their own out there.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Out of the bottom 6, I would say that Linell, Brown, Silk and maybe Dyroff have the most offense to their game. Sit and Smith are really more high energy defensive players. Considering who Brown is playing with, not half bad that he has 2 goals and would probably have a couple more if he were playing alongside some talented players. There is clearly enough talent to have 2 very good scoring lines, the question is do you spread out and water down the talent a bit and try to come up with 3 good scoring lines, vs the 2 VERY good lines? With it being this early in the season, I would give it a shot.

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

FWIW listening to York's presser it sounds like it might be another month+ for Destry, as he talked of early/mid Jan.

That's going to stretch the forwards even thinner as Gaudreau heads to WJC. I'm always interested in the lineup changes York does when he's missing star players for the WJC

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

If you're interested in seeing York try to break the record on Friday, I'd act fast there are very few tickets remaining (BC is sold out of their allotment).

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Looking for a ride for Friday's game. I'm in Chelsea, but could bus/T somewhere. Anyone?

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

Tickets are going really fast, it appears. I'm glad my group was able to get some today --- I suspect it will sell out. Seems like there will be a TON of BC fans there. The great Providence pilgrimage for 925...

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

BTW Mike McMahon at CHN is saying there's a good shot for Frozen Fenway next year and the lead candidate would be BC/ND

Just bought two for Friday night. I can get to Providence but I'm not familiar with the area around PC. Any hints? Maybe a beer /pizza place pre game?

Sounds great. A "no thanks" game vs a team most of us said "no thanks" to in the conference expansion stuff. The only real winner would be ND in this. Of course, BC did manage to win the FF in the two years they played at Fenway and this is a cool thing for recruiting. I sure as heck won't be going to this one. And it BETTER not be our one home game vs. them... let it be their home game or a non-conf game.

It will be your home game since ND is playing 2 at home vs an opponent or two on the road. Will BC go all the way to ND for a single game?

Schiender should be rocking on Friday night and it should be fun.

Is this even finalized? They can come out here and play any numbers of teams for their two games a weekend.

They've been doing it for a long time now the night before the football games, mostly, don't see why that would be an issue now.

Can we get an angry bu fan tumblr? The twitter meltdowns over 924 are hysterical. But but but win %!!! Beanpots!!!

Re: Boston College '12-'13: Gaudreaubey Baker

So Quinnipiac already has a nice new arena, are 8-3-1, and just won at Providence (along with at Alfond earlier this year)...we added the wrong school from CT.

10-3-2 now.

Funny, looking at the numbers you have two teams from CT in the top 8. Two teams from NH in the top 8. Two teams from MA in the top 8. Then Indiana and Ohio. No State of Hockey, Michigan, Colorado or even NY.

Pretty sure they are going to be playing 2 game series throughout the 2013-2014 season. Home and Home for the rest of the conference while UND will play at the opponent twice or host a team twice.

Jesus you're right I didn't even think of that. Jackson's teams are boring enough on regular ice I can only imagine Fenway ice.
