Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Split was quite good and Glass looks like it has potential. So is he really done?

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Watched Split today. Really liked it as well, in particular the ending. A- to Unbreakable's A.

Struggle: The Life and Lost Art of Szukalski

Doc on a sculptor who bounced between fame and common man a few times. Very bizarre story, and very interesting. Art isn't exactly my thing, but the story of the artist was the reason I checked this out. Worth it. Dude led one hell of a life.

Hulu's Documentary "Fyre Fraud" is a must watch. Good lord what a dumpster fire...

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

Phantom Thread. It's not surprising to me that I hadn't heard of an AA nominated film, but to not have heard of one starring DDL?

I only saw about 5 minutes this morning and I can't say I was riveted by it but can anyone summarize and recommend?

Hotel Artemis

Set in riot-torn, near-future Los Angeles, 'Hotel Artemis' follows the Nurse, who runs a secret, members-only emergency room for criminals.

Decent action-type movie. Jodie Foster is excellent as The Nurse. Kind of wish they could have tied this in with the John Wick franchise, as it obviously would make perfect sense. Don't expect any surprise endings, though. It plays out like you expect it to

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

That said, did we really need two documentaries in the same week about a bunch of rich d-bags getting scammed by richer d-bags.

I didn't even know there was *a* doc on it already, much less two. That being said, I know the story, no interest in getting more info on it.

No but this one interviews the rich d-bag who ripped off the rich d-bags so it is the only one that matters ;)

Re: Bohemian Rap City: Movies Thread

The reviews I’ve seen all seem to say the Netflix one is better. Watched it today- wow.
My fav part might be when a guy talks about how Billy asked him to perform oral sex on the customs director to get their shipments of water released

Not for everyone. I watched it on the flight home from Europe. I think the acting, especially from DDL, is superb.

I thought it was a good film, but I’m still undecided on whether I liked it.

It’s very slow, so if you don’t like those films that slog though like they’re knee deep in mud, skip it.

What’s the doc name?
