Per USCHO's RPI page, 5 of the top 10 SOS rankings right now belong to NCHC teams (4 of the top 6). 1 of those 10 spots belong to Minnesota at #5 and the next B1G team appearing is Pedo State at #14. And the NCHC still has a better non-con winning percentage than the B1G Mistake.

On a positive note for at least one MSU Hockey Team, the Tier II team (think JVish) beat scUM last night 4-1. Goalie had 39 saves on 40 shots! Takes them to 6-3 on the season. As opposed to the Varsity's 3-6 record.
And and to keep the thread on track: Volley Ball lost in 5 sets last night to #2 Minn, to fall to 23-6 on the season after beating scUM Wednesday night 3-1. They could do some good stuff in the NCAA Tournament.

Yeah, but Minnesota will hang a banner this year. They always do.

Not a given this year, if it ever was. Although Michigan is down at this early juncture, the Big Ten is definitely improved overall and a couple of others could rise to challenge, or even overtake, the very inconsistent Gophers.

The Big Ten's non-conference record is now a very respectable 37-19-8. Just sayin'.

Yeah, the Gophers are going to have a tough time getting another banner. Excepting sparty, anyone could take the banner this year.

Cant wait for the conference to start next weekend. Ohio state has a chance to slay the dragon for the first time on the road since this conference started. They havent won at Minnesota in a long time and this league still goes through Minnesota.

I certainly agree with this. As long as tCHHCoMSU is
in charge, last place will be a regular happening at Munn Ice Arena.

I'll be at the Saturday game. I hope I get to see a stick salute meaning your chance to slay the dragon on the road will have to wait another year.;)
