It's early.
Way too early. But just for a moment: what if it keeps growing? If we can pull off a truly historical landslide, we
could completely erase the last 40 years of Republican malfeasance in one roll.
I don't know that a leadership team of Biden, Schumer, and Pelosi is up for that. But then again, FDR was no revolutionary. He resisted going big at every turn. Events forced his hand to make substantive changes (and perhaps delay the death of capitalism for a century so in a way f-ck him).
Imagine all liberal executive and judicial actions firmly cemented in law, and even in Amendment, to remove the conservatives' self-serving lie of opposing "activist legislation from the bench."
Imagine making all the ways the rich currently lessen their tax exposure
crimes.
Imagine fixing all the procedural tricks the right currently uses to slow down or halt the will of progressives.
Imagine ending bribery in politics.
Like I said, it's a long, long road, but for a moment perhaps we should also think about the end goal. Having been conditioned for 50 years that the rich will always win, well, what if they didn't? What could we do (1) to make this country better and (2) to prevent them from ever getting their hands around our throat again?
