Biden v Dump 1: If not now, when? If not us, who?

I really want to know who the 5 percent of Iowegians are that plan to vote for Trump but then Greenfield over Ernst. Because every poll lately has Trump up 2-3 points but Greenfield also up 2-3 points.

Yeah, those are the kind of voters I can never figure out. It doesn't make any sense.

I think if the debate rules don't change like they're proposing, Biden should have a stadium chair and cooler just off stage so when Trump goes off on one of his rants, he should just pop that chair open, sit down and grab a drink.

I like it. It's a town hall debate, so it should work well.

Nah, bring the Trans Am, start washing it when that happens.

I’m doing the opposite and read a lot of other folks here are as well. Maybe in Iowa some folks don’t think Ernst is extreme enough or something?

TX gov Abbot is officially limiting 1 ballot drop box per county. They have counties bigger than many northeastern states. The first TX suppression attempt is in.

They used to call them "ticket splitters". I've done it before, primarily because it was something my parents used to espouse. Can't see myself doing it again for the foreseeable future.

Trump's debate was so awful he lost Dilbert Guy!

This is one case where I enjoy seeing an idiot get what's coming to him. Because of his influence over others (writing the Trump cheerleading articles & even a book(?) based on complete pseudoscience nonsense, he's earned every bit of the anguish he's feeling right now having been used & abused by the conman. Go ahead and keep stewing in that feeling Scotty.

And some of the urban counties are just massive sprawls. What a ridiculous order.

Tactically it makes sense....

TX seems like it's under a +5 margin for Dumpy currently. They need to put up defenses in an area that should already be fully fortified. Without TX there is no way to 270 for Dumpy.

This is a good sign, but we need to stand on the throttle still to reach the finish...

That only works if the USPS in TX slows down / destroys ballots from Dem counties.

I'm sure there are D's that want to drop off their ballots in person instead of risking USPS issues. The idea is to make it as inconvenient as possible without making an official denial.

Same logic as states that won't allow a single liquor store to sell both beer/wine & liquor. But the same person can own two storefronts next to each other with separate entrances but a shared checkout counter in the center... Technically they are doing one thing while in reality/practice they are doing another.

Too much too soon....

I really do feel that Dems need to fear to get EVERYONE out to the polls... It helps if people are willing to put up some resistance to the "poll watcher" shenanigans that will happen.

There is plenty of fear that the votes won't be counted and that will get us all to vote. It is that much harder for them to steal it if we win by 12 rather than 6.

However, too much fear is counter-productive. It paralyzes. And, cons being cowards and bullies, it empowers them when we say "oh noes!"

I am not saying "don't worry" -- WORRY! ORGANIZE! VOTE NOW AND THEN CANVASS AND WORK PHONE BANKS LATER! But I am saying we are going to win huge and nuke the Nazis back to Mom's basement.

I understand that -- I am one such person. Even here in well run VA I have no confidence in the USPS delivering my ballots securely, so I took an hour out of my day yesterday to do drop off.

What I am saying is they have to use the USPS to divert, deface, or destroy ballots if they are going to suppress the number of drop offs, otherwise all those people will just mail their ballots. Now, in a red state I have little doubt that local officials will work Katherine Harris style to ensure millions of Democratic ballots disappear. What part of "Nazi" do people not understand? Indeed in red states it may not be possible to get a fair vote at all, since even if everyone votes in person a combination of suppression tactics and outright intimidation and violence will be employed by the Right.

The important thing is we can win without any red state.
