Best College Hockey player names

Re: Best College Hockey player names

Back in the early 2000's Wisconsin Eau Claire had a guy named Kuzma Kurakin. I always thought that was a cool name. I also like the name Travis Blood, he played for Hamilton. Nichols had a guy by the name of JoJo Bojanowski. Salem State had a guy from Belguim named Achim Lootens and Plymouth State had the Lacroix brothers, Goose and Topo.

As for D1 guys I always liked Junior Lessard and Isaac Reichmuth from Duluth as well as Union's Augie DiMarzo.

I've always enjoyed the double vowel names too. The one that really comes to mind is former Gopher Garrett Smaagaard.

Scott Darling

Goalie for Maine till he got dismissed. Way to easy to make fun of him at games.

Wonder if he was related to Bruce Darling, a very good player for Brown in the mid-60s. From Ontario.

NMU's Bryce Cockburn (yes, I know how to properly pronouce it, but that's no fun). The best was the year after he left, chanting, "where's your Cockburn?"

BU's Brandon Yip. It's fun to say "yip" repetitively.

Re: Best College Hockey player names

Is it best hockey name, or the name that sounds vaguely dirty, or the hardest to pronounce?

If it's best hockey name, I put into nomination Mankato's Jean-Paul LaFontaine.
