Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Nice weekend, Beavers! Five out of six WCHA points on the road in Mankato, still undefeated in WCHA play. Up next weekend, a home series with Northern Michigan.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

I know this is early, but what a great start! The goals scored versus goals given up ratio is incredible. In WCHA action, the Beavers score 3.5 goals per every goal they give up (28-8, 10 games). Tech is decent and the next best with 1.72 goals per every goal given up (26-15, 8 games).

Another great weekend for the beavs. While it wasn't technically a sweep getting 5 out of 6 at the second place team (at the time) is huge. 10 games in conference undefeated. Coming into the weekend we were tied for third in pairwise. Should be interesting to see where we are there as well as in other rankings

At this level even ties hurt - now tied for 5th in the pairwise. I do see an increase coming up in the polls. Maybe 12th. But then we know what Trump thinks of the polls.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Another solid win by the Beavers, this one a 2-1 victory over Northern Michigan. That moves BSU to 10-0-1-1in WCHA play (32 out of 33 points) and 10-2-1 overall.

Hopefully the roads will improve overnight and in the morning and the family and I can make the trip up.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

BSU notches a 5-2 victory over Northern Michigan to move to 11-0-1-1 and 35 points in the WCHA, 11-2-1 overall. BSU had three power play goals, a shorty and an even strength goal in jumping out to a 5-0 lead. The Beavers will host Princeton in mon-conference action next week.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Great start for the Beavers 5-0 early on with a couple more goals nullified. The NMU coach shifted things up with a different goalie midway through and some line changes, but it didn't help. I am glad I left with 6 minutes left cause I wouldn't have enjoyed watching us give up those 2 goals at the end.

Another good weekend from the Beavs. #10 on USCHO, 13 in USA today back to tied for 3rd in pairwise. Pretty good princeton team coming into town next weekend.

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Um....what? They're 0-6-1.

Maybe BSUBeavs was thinking of Providence instead of Princeton when he mentioned they were a pretty good team. Since I find myself making those kind of errors periodically, I am looking to give BSUBeavs the benefit of the doubt. But you're right BGDrew, 0-6-1 isn't too impressive.

This weekend has the makings of a trap weekend for the Beavers. A team that hasn't won yet this year and a series at Tech looming next weekend. Hopefully Tom and staff can.have the boys focused on Princeton and not looking ahead.

Wasn't able to watch the game tonight but looked at the score and was pretty surprised... What happened? At least it wasn't WCHA play

Re: Bemidji State Beavers: 2016-17

Ouch.... the Beavers looked uninspired against Princeton....

I just got back from the Sanford Center after seeing our 4-1 loss to Princeton. Although I give the hockey smarts advantage to beaverhockeyfan, I thought it was well-played hockey game. Just one penalty I think early on in the 3rd, then we got several especially when we were making a comeback. The pace of the game was as fast as any I have seen so far, and I have been to all 6/7 home games. Princeton was fast, generally passed well, and they did a great job of clogging up 3'-8' around their goalie. We had some shots, but they either clogged it up or made us shoot wide. They appeared better than any team I have seen all year. I know that doesn't sound good and wow does this hurt our conference reputation. I hope I am wrong and it's just a matter of inspiration. Let's get some revenge tomorrow! Go Beavers!
