Bemidji @ Minnesota - Rodents, Rodents, Everywhere

Re: Bemidji @ Minnesota - Rodents, Rodents, Everywhere

What do you need a cab for?!? ;) :D

I was up there last month and there's a new cab service that will bring you anywhere for $5 or something like that.

Going by what tInvaders went through last Dec when we attended the BSU-UAH series. The cabs were cheap, but there were two. Two cabs. NOT two companies. Two cabs. And the bar regulars were pi**ed on that Sat when the cabs pulled up, and refused service to potential vultures, and took us in. :D

In the three years I was up there, I was never in a Bemidji cab...Didn't even know they had them until midway through. I had a buddy who once tried to get the Palace Casino bus to pick him up....Didn't work.

There is a new taxi service specifically for bars and college students. $5 ride to anywhere in the Bemidji Area. Realistically speaking, there is nowhere you need to go in town that you can't walk to.

Even though there's a good chance I won't ever go to Bemidji again, that's good to know. We did research before our travels up there last year (given that we had 5 people from 3 different states attending: MI, ND, MN) and the cab service was excellent, as far as on time, cheap, etc.

And walking? No. On that Fri we were there, it was butt cold with straightline heavy winds. Not good. We stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, maybe a mile or so from the arena, and after one of the games/bars, hit the Perkins across the street from the hotel. So, a one-block walk into the wind resulted in us shivering for the next hour. I literally was running into the wind, and for every 3 steps forward, I was blown back one step.

Re: Bemidji @ Minnesota - Rodents, Rodents, Everywhere

Lets get real here. Any Beaver fans saying that the Gophers "have no idea what their up against" doesn't follow college hockey

Ok my comments on here have been pretty Homerish. I realize the gophers players and coaches wont take the Beavers lightly. The Gopher fans on the other hand I am not so sure. Seem pretty cocky to me.

I do know that I have followed College Hockey for 25 years now and that this Beaver team deserves their current #7 USCHO ranking, I do Know that the Palace is in Grand Forks ND and not in the TC. I was a big gopher fan for many years and still believe their style of hockey is the most fun to watch. I remember the years of Bonin and Brink (great Bemidji alum and gopher walk on) the years of Stauber (you have Alex who?) etc....

So talk your trash and we will see, because I also know that if the Beavers were to be swept this weekend I wont go into hiding like a fudge packer fan, I will give credit where it is due.

The real question is where will all the gopher fans be when they lose again?

I am to lazy to look, who has BSU played this year?

Re: Bemidji @ Minnesota - Rodents, Rodents, Everywhere

Air Force
Northern Michigan
Alabama Huntsville
Robert Morris

-Air force was ranked 18th when we played them
-Northern Michigan was 21st when we played them on the road
-Huntsville had beat notre dame in notre dame earlier and they swept air force in air force
-Robert Morris is just robert morris and yes they suck

-Yes we have really not played anyone to tough yet but to play four games in a row on the road and not lose and to start the season 7-0-1 in D1 college hockey is tough to do no matter who you play.

-This will be a good series and beavers fans saying the gophers wont even know what hit them when we come is stupid to say cause come on here this is still the gophers on olympic ice, yes they are having a down year so far but they have played tough competition and they are always a really tough test especially in Mariucci.

-This will be a great series and i expect a split but anything can happen.

Northern isn't entirely horrible.

I expect this to be a tough series. Bemidji is going to be fired up, and it will be hard for the Gophers to manufacture the same kind of intensity. A split would not surprise me.

But I still expect a Gopher sweep.
