Sure but all the college games WERE in Marlborough on finals dayBy the time the finals were held I would bet there were few, if any, college coaches hanging around. If you are drawing that kind of talent to a tourney it wouldn't hurt to showcase them in a prime time slot in rink one. It's value added for the tourney.

Hux I swear to GodLMAO...Can't say I favor Sharia Law, he who shall remain nameless should have a pressure cooker shoved up his *** and detonated, and New World Order is a Bush 41 concoction.
I just want it acknowledged that, for once, I wasn't a part of the problem.
Really you two? They aren't college girls they're Olympians. There were only four teams worth watching at the "college" level and I believe only one game in round robin that included any of them. The tournament organizers can't fit one game on rink 1? Almost all the people in the building that had nothing to do would have watched that game...including the younger girls.
It's not every day people (including kids) get to see players at the top of their sport play. They get to see the skill that is needed and may even try to emulate one or two of them.
Your "go to a college game" argument is weak. it's Olympians people want to see. not u19's.
Grant, what if you went to the Capital Grille to watch Dizzy Gillespie while a 7th grader played to 100 people at the Boston Garden because they thought Gillespie was already accomplished enough and would be fine at the Capital Grille. Kind of a waste for the people that want to see a true player.
as for HockeyEast33, I have no idea who you are and hopefully never will.
Well, we know who you are. Sorry that the showcase for high school players to get college exposure wasn't all about Katie and her BC/national team friends. Wow, you are just one self focused *****, aren't you? Ridiculous...
And BTW, many of the college coaches are NOT happy their scholarship players are risking injury in a meaningless summer tournament where they are fair game for any D3 or old club hockey enemy looking to make a statement. So maybe there is some design to remove them from the coaches view.
My daughter enjoyed the tourney as well. And I am glad that one of her games was not bumped to a secondary rink so the Olympians could play in Marlboro. I think the Beantown is a top recruiting showcase for colleges, and my daughter needs as many games as possible in front of the scholarship decision makers. Just my two cents.just to be clear my daughter had a great time at the event. 33 you made a great point. Beantown puts on a top shelf product and worth the money to come out and play top teams in front of a ton of coaches. Whom ever helped with this event did a great job. To get that many teams at so many rinks is impressive. We lucked out and had a highly competitive games every game.

I seen this before and it is a good reminder.
- No discussion of politics or religion
- No feeding the trolls
- Avoid using bad language or at least attempt to keep it to a minimum
- No pictures or links that could potentially get you or someone else in trouble
- If you can't disagree in a civil manner, feel free to not participate
- If you have doubts about a post in a thread, it might be best to assume it is someone's attempt at a joke or sarcasm.
These are things that generally happen on this board and for the most part it makes it an enjoyable place to participate in discussing a sport that we all have interest in.
I have had a couple college coaches from top local schools say that they don't really scout it anymore because its gotten too big and diluted. I'm sure there are still plenty of schools there but as people have said below, its not what it used to be. There are better, smaller showcases out there that the schools prefer to attend.
That is hard to believe. I saw plenty of big programs there. BC, Penn St, Ohio St, Northeastern, UConn, MN Duluth and St Cloud St were all there. Also, only a few teams are going to have a few D1 girls on them anywhere you go except if your team name is WhiteCap and then every girl is D1. But this was a great event for the D3 athlete to be able to showcase.
In addition to those you just mentioned, I also saw PC, Brown, UNH, Princeton, Yale, Colgate, Quinnipiac, Dartmouth, Maine, Wisconsin, Union and Syracuse. okay but 1 game? it was 1 game. there were 5 other games that played at the same time in other rinks that included players that scouts would have to drive to see. 1 game with the best players in the world (RBK)
they couldn't find room for 1 hour? there's no explanation other than they "missed it".
