if you live near moose, head over to his house. he's having a watch party
NU watch parties across the country. I don't think you need to be an NU alum.

Interestingly, tickets on the secondary market are pegging $180.00 for balcony seats.
Point, LaRusso!
Anyway...
Pretty sure I saw this discussed somewhere when perusing a few threads last week but I cannot stress enough how insanely stupid it is that we've let some bozos decide to make this game OT 3x3 for five minutes and then shootout for deciding either semifinal or championship (I'd be ok with consolation game). I want to know the names of who made this decision... and their home address. Have any hard-hitting journalists asked this question yet? Been a little busy lately to even read any of the articles. And we need to come to a resolution for next year immediately and look at all options to avoid this to preserve the integrity of the event - even something like making these exhibitions that don't count for PWR to get out of the stupid so we can crown a true champion if that is a viable loophole).
I don't love it but I'm even half ok with the current rules for the semi because although it does suck, the first game going into double OT and the 2nd game starting at 10 isn't great either. I'd prefer maybe 10 minutes of 3 on 3 before the shootout though.
Tonight though, there is absolutely no reason why this is the format. My prediction is once BC or BU loses a Beanpot game in a shootout they'll be enough backlash to change it.

As has been stated previously, an exception was already asked for and was denied. As I understand it one of the reasons was some of the coaches/ADs of other teams didn't like the idea of having their PWR impacted by an overtime loss that would have otherwise been a tie game.Oh you just know tonight's consolation game is going to a shootout, right? I mean, the first ever BUvBC consolation game? It wouldn't surprise me if the championship game ended that way, too. Maybe Dunkin's can pull some weight with this.

Coronato is the best forward I have seen in college hockey this year. He’s been the best player on the ice in all 4 games I have seen him play BU, Colgate, BC, NU. Why can’t more players have that ability to shoot the puck like he does

Sean
The sell option on my TM app ticket is grayed out. Presumably since I got it from BU?
Asterisk champion not NU’s fault how do you celebrate a shoot out win. McDonough scores and he barely reacted no drama there. 3 on 3 is questionable in its own right but at-least it’s kind of like real hockey. Too bad for both teams deserved betterBeyond stupid.
There's a fairly obvious solution to this. If you absolutely have to conform to uniform OT rules for PWR purposes, proceed with the gimmicky 3 on 3 five minute OT. But if nobody scores there's no reason to not let the Beanpot decide how they want to settle the game after that. The game would already be in the books as a tie for PWR purposes.
