Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

What is the proper pronunciation of "Jewoobs"?

These guys are tame from what I hear of the Tech band...

Meh. Based on what I heard about the old days, they had largely sanitized us into just another PG-13 rated 'non-conformist' college band by the time I joined.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

I think you'll enjoy it, even as a neutral observer. There's something about a the atmosphere of an outdoor college day game that just makes it fun. It's kind of like WeFest for me - I'm not a big country fan, but WeFest is a blast.

There truly is something about the game day experience and although Minnesota's is, quite frankly, pretty **** poor, our group has always had a good time.

dl, when the game is closer I'll see where y'all are at.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

Should we start up a fund to buy one for Mavsy?

I just can't believe there are people out there that pay money for shirts commemorating regular season wins..I also can't believe this particular shirt was made. I don't give a **** if the game was in Chicago that is disgusting. BHGP did a nice job summing up my feelings towards it.

B1G Media Days unofficially start football season for me!

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

I love how Mav pretends that any other B1G football tailgate is somehow inferior to Iowa's. They're all pretty much the same - big, loud, several traditional sites, lots of "adult" beverage consumption.

In my one time experience of attending a Big Time College Football game (Washington vs Colorado a few years ago), I'm under the impression that it's a massive drinking party with a little football thrown in.

In his defense, I'm sure none of the other BIG tailgates have nearly as much incest as Iowa's does.

Basically sums it up... Although you have the "bandwagon" factor that helps make the day more interesting... That is where the idiots lie and those are the guys who you are gonna see doing stupid crap that you'll remember... MSU or OSU are gonna have way more people at their tailgates than say Northwestern or Illinois... People still tailgate at U of I, but it's just a smaller, more civilized party...

I believe you need to go to the Grove for an Old Miss tailgate for the sundresses.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

I've done game day at UM (of course), UW, Purdue, Illinois, PSU, LSU and Arkansas to name a few. I can count on one hand the number of times I was primarily there to get drunk and not in the last 20 years. The remainder it was enough to simply get a cool buzz, walk around meeting people and watching others get obliterated. Like a lot of things, if you go into it not asking it to be, "OMG TEH GRAYTEST DAY EVA!!", pace yourself and just take in the experience it should be enjoyable. While the scope of the parties at LSU and UAr were bigger than any of the others, since you can't see the entire setup at once does it really matter?
