Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

According to a text to a reporter from the AD Hollis, Michigan State is also close to locking up a neutral site game in 2023 and a home and home in 2025 and 2026 with Notre Dame. Some of the kids playing in those games are in kindergarten today if you would like to feel old.

I note that LSU gets no credit for adding ASU...;)
There were some unique dynamics at work there, as there's the history of moving the LSU-ASU game to Tempe after Katrina devastated Louisiana back close to a decade ago, with all game proceeds going to hurricane relief.. The home-and-home had been scheduled for I think 2015 and 2016, but LSU had asked to get out of that series. It's a little surprising that it took this long to nail down the new home and home. I hope it doesn't get cancelled again, given how far off it is now.

Re: BCS 2013-14: This space for rent

Alabama series was cancelled not because Alabama was worried about a nine game schedule, but because Alabama wanted to play in Tuscaloosa and then a neutral site, rather than East Lansing

Kinda funny how the asking price for cupcakes has gone up... It does beg the question: "Where is the limit to that?" I mean, what happens if the lower level BCS schools figure out that they can start asking for $2 million or more? Where does it end?

I like it. "What's an undefeated regular season really worth to you?"

Big Ten announces football championship will stay in Indy through 2021.

Indy seems like a good venue, but I would like to see them take five years off at some point and hit up the other stadiums in Big Ten country. Detroit, Cleveland, Chicago, GB, Minneapolis. Maybe alternate so Indy gets it five years and the other cities once. But they would probably want to limit it to indoor stadiums, which means Indy, Detroit and Minneapolis are the only options. However I just realized that Big Ten country now includes Philly, Fed Ex, and the Meadowlands. So never mind, keep it in Indy.

For those not following the O'Bannon trial, it's awesome so far. It is a bench trial and the presiding judge does not follow athletics at all, so she is asking the NCAA witnesses all kinds of questions. She hasn't suffered through the NCAA propaganda year after year, so she is having a really difficult time understanding why, for example, Nike can pay a coach millions of dollars for a shoe deal but none of that money goes to the players.

Today was a monumental day. The NCAA's own expert witness (who is being paid a huge sum in "consulting fees") called the NCAA a cartel, but a cartel that does "good things" not bad. Can anyone give an example of a cartel that does good things? Selling drugs and manipulating oil prices do not qualify.

That 30 for 30, The Two Escobars, made Pedro out to be a halfway decent fellow. He did a lot of good things AND sold drugs. But he killed people, so that's a strike against him. However, he may have redistributed his wealth better than the NCAA does.

I would advise everyone to make the most out of today that they can. Dark days are upon us, for tomorrow marks the day Rutgers joins/ruins the Big Ten Conference.

NCAA taking another look at North Carolina. Guess North Carolina A&T better hide the silverware.
