BC vs Wisconsin...for All the Marbles

Re: BC vs Wisconsin...for All the Marbles

Your regular season champ couldn't have beaten Madison East High School when they visited Bucky this season.

LOL at this argument. BC is clearly a better team than UNH and guess what, Saturday's game isn't being played at the Kohl Center.

because picking 5 years would involve the smack down Bucky gave BC in 2006...

Winning 2-1 with a last second shot hitting the post is not a smackdown, sorry.

We were a bad decision by a d-man from clearing the puck out of our zone right before that. The shot never would have happened.

Anybody can go back and pick out this play or that play that made all the difference in the world.

Even if they tie the game, who's to say that they win?

I'm sure that BC should have beaten MSU also.

What are you talking about? Yes, Wisconsin was clearly a better team in the game and deserved to win. Nobody is taking that away from you guys. That being said, it wasn't a smackdown by any definition.

A few things: this year's BC team is closer to Wisconsin than it was in 2006. And the game isn't in Milwaukee. You guys have a great team, but enough already. Saturday has all the makings of a great game.

The BC loss to MSU and the '05 regional final loss to North Dakota are the only 2 true "ugly losses" in York's BC postseason resume. BC blew it big time against MSU, but of course credit MSU's hard nosed play and amazing goaltending. ND completely dominated the '05 matchup and beat BC down.

Re: BC vs Wisconsin...for All the Marbles

Rumor has it Wisconsin is an pseudo-NHL team. They are going to wipe the floor with the midgets from Boston. They have speed, skill, toughness, size, depth, goaltending.

They are perfect. BC would likely be better off not showing up....so I am told.

They played pretty poorly in the national semi vs Maine in 2004.

Re: BC vs Wisconsin...for All the Marbles

Barry Melrose did not even know the name of the schools that played last night. I cannot believe you are using his words as any sort of evidence. Mook is right. Hockey East grind it out style of play is superior come playoff time

Mook, you are just digging yourself a deeper hole here. What is this great difference in style of play in which your delusions lead you to think HE is superior? First of all you dare suggest a dive was committed in the 06 title game, a game which Wisconsin clearly dominated. Your goalie kept you in it.......as was the case in 90 at the Joe. Your conference has six titles in 27 years of play. If Wisconsin wins this game, the WCHA will have six titles in the last 9 yrs. Do you really want to debate conference superiority when armed with a squirt gun? We should be able to agree that Wisconsin has been hot through the tourney except for one period against Vermont (BTW We schooled your regular season champ twice this yr). Ask Barry Melrose if he has eyeballs. He sounded pretty convinced that Wisconsin looked unbeatable yesterday. With that said, anything can happen.

I never called it a smackdown although I'm not sure that it was a one goal nail biter in any other place than on the scoreboard.

I believe that your posters are complaining about a bad call and a post.

I agree that these two teams are very close and it could be a great game on Saturday.

Re: BC vs Wisconsin...for All the Marbles

Mook, to deny that Bucky wasn't BC's Daddy in that game is not reasonable. You were dominated. Your regular season champ couldn't have beaten Madison East High School when they visited Bucky this season. Lagged far behind? Have you seen the number of WCHA guys who left since 06 for the NHL? Do you wonder why, during the Gold Medal hockey game, you saw four ex Badgers on the ice at one time, not to mention the Sioux and Gopher players???? Did you notice the WJC tourney and it's WCHA flavor? Away with your piddly nonsense.

Wisconsin was the far better team playing with a serious home ice advantage against a BC team that would have been outmatched in their own building, nevermind where the game was actually played. And yet you were a gutless dive and a hit post away from going to OT and potentially losing. I would have loved to hear Don Cherry comment on the game.

It has the makings of a classic and I hope it is the semifinal games sucked .

I agree. I don't think it's the Wisconsin crowd predicting victory. At least not the sober ones.

They were decent in that game, and had plenty of chances, but York made the mistake of shortening his bench by too much, and Jimmy Howard was awesome. I credit Maine for winning that game, rather than BC losing it.

Re: BC vs Wisconsin...for All the Marbles

I do find it amazing how Mook woofs it up over his conference because it has won two titles in a row.........for the first time in HE's 27 year existence. If WCHA fans took it upon themselves to comparably woof it up over our successes their would be room room on this board for any other hockey talk.

WOOF! WOOF! Five straight titles in the first decade of the new century!

Um, WCHA fans do tend to woof constantly.

Scoreboard is all that matters. Fact is, BC was an inch from sending that game to OT even though they were thoroughly outplayed. That's hockey.

Not sure what "bad call" from that game sticks out. I don't remember complaining about any particular call.

What are you talking about?

Probably Robbie Earl on the tying goal, but Skille also took a bad dive in that game.

DISCLAIMER: BC players have been accused of diving too. It happens.
