BC/UML Home & Home

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

Probably going to be a sellout and I'm hoping Lyles has a huge game against his old team.

If he doesn't fall once, does that count as a big game? ;) I kid, I kid. Hope he does great and BC wins.

Where's Scott Kaplan with a forecast anyway?

He's not stuck in a corn field is he like that other weather guy???

What were the UML roster changes?

Robert Gordon Orr playing defense for them...

:D

Paging hokydad...

UML has a secret play called the annexation of umass Amherst where lyles goes deep off the face off and falls down in the opponent crease to block the goalie from stopping the puck when the Lowell goalie shoots into the empty net

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

I know there's always a huge walk-up for BC/Maine and UNH ... so while tickets might be available now, no idea about tonight. Also remember, you're going to see empty seats even if the game is a sell-out, since I know many people who stand around the concourse and watch.

You forgot to mention the LowellBank Pavilion. I would guess most people stay up there instead of going to their reserved seats.

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

Is there a reason that the HE ticker on NESN and the scoreboard on HEonline.com and here still has the score 3-2 with 20 minutes to go in the 3rd? Was there some sort of outage that was preventing score updates from the game?

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

Good effort from Lowell tonight. They could have packed it in when BC scored 2 goals in 90 seconds but fought back. To state the obvious the 3rd BC goal was a killer. BC was a wall of defense in the 3rd period and locked down the game as good teams do.

Loved the way Bazin pulled Carr when Lowell had the PP with a minute left. The move backfired when BC scored the ENG, but I like the call anyway.

A question for the BC fans who were at the game: Did you notice the difference between the way Lowell played under Blaise and how they played tonight?

The stats computer crashed in the third. Also, what's up now isn't accurate. That should be 11 shots for UML in the third, not 1. So the final shots were 39-20 UML, not 29-20.

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

Didn't see the game, but milner must be playing some good hockey.

he was very good and Gaudreau was the best player on the ice, other than those two no one else stuck out to me. I am kind of surprised at the shot totals because i don't think UML out played us by that margin, in fact, i dont think they out played us at all. I thought we had the better chances but didnt put them on net. UML had a few good chances but Milner was there when they did. They had a lot of shots from the perimeter . As far as Lyles was concerned, i dont remember him doing anything really but take that as a good thing for a D-man i guess. It was a pretty nondescript game but i never got the feeling we weren't going to take 2 points. Great time at Tsongas though as always..........the Fenway Double Pale Ale was outstanding............

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

From the radio feed seemed like Milner needs to work on rebound control, true sterlippo?

hmmmm, i saw a few instances where he could have done better controlling the rebound but i didn't see it as a continuous problem throughout the game but i was in the corner at the end where BC shot at twice so the sight line to the other end wasn't great. What i did actually think and notice was how skilled and in control he is with the puck behind the net. Cory was a mess in that area and Muse was ok, this kid is great at it........

I heard the comment on the radio too. Sounded like the guy got excited over nothing as the puck was cleared away a second later. Parker Milner is the least of their worries. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Yorkie rides him all season.

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

Had to drive up to burlington, vt after work last night. Sports hub came in even in vt, but I lost the feed in the middle of the 3rd

Re: BC/UML Home & Home

did you watch the 3rd period? BC couldnt get the puck out of their end. Lowell out played them but would guess it would be a 4 or 5 to 1 game tonight at BC

Not sure what you were watching. Sat behind Milner in the 1st and 3rd. He couldn't hold on to anything and left some juicy rebounds right into the slot. This was not an isolated incident. He also whiffed a couple of times trying to stop the puck with his stick...I thought he had an "ok" night, but I think a more talented team than Lowell could have put 4 by him last night. I agree with York's comment, he was square to the shooter all night, but he left a heap of trash out front for his team to take care of.

I would also disagree that Lowell didn't carry play last night. In fact, you're the first person I've heard make that claim.

well, like i said, i was in the opposite corner for two of the periods a little low so i didnt have a great view of that and you did being behind that goal. I just never thought BC was ever being outplayed for any long stretch. they basically sat back for the 3rd period and defended the one goal lead which i didn't like.

Do you define "sat back for the 3rd period and defended the one goal" with having pass after pass in their end picked off, turning puck over by players who were on it quicker? Had zero to do with sitting back and everything to do with BC not moving their feet and getting it deep and getting to work.

Good lesson for a young group of F's. Will help them come March
