Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

We lose MacLeod, Brown, Arnold and Hayes so Milano, Tuch and Sanford come in September 2014.

I guess Doherty takes MacLeod's spot, right ? Linell again on D next year ?? Does Jeke get to play ?

What year was Tanner entering college ?

Well I don't want to say it's definite but I think it's pretty certain Gaudreau is a goner too. Macmaster had signed a LOI to come this year. I have to think they must've told Macmaster he would have trouble seeing the ice for the first year or they would like him to push it back a year, and he was welcome to open up his recruiting to seek a better fit.
I know it's convenient that he decommitted right after Wood decommitted from Brown but I have to think the MacMaster decommitment was a long time coming.

Something no one is talking about is why Miles Wood decommitted. Mark Divver of the Providence Journal reported on Twitter, Wood decommitted because his grades weren't good enough to get into Brown. Whether that'd be an issue at BC if they have interest is another story.

Personally, I'd rather see them keep the spot open in case Donato gets canned at Harvard and his son, Ryan reopens up his recruiting. Best player in ISL by far.

kinda dangerous to wait and see if donato gets fired, no? even then there is no guarantee of landing him.

Ya, like it's long overdue so what makes this year any different ? Harvard is on another late season run so he'll keep his job again

O ya of course. But hey, doesn't hurt to wish for it to fall into place. Probably should've said the best case scenario would be for that scenario to take place. We got lucky with Gaudreau, not out of the realm of possibility for it to happen again.

I know Patronick is going to lose his mind and accidentally poke a whole in his blow-up girlfriend rushing to the keyboard to respond to this... but I've seen several UML games this season and they are every bit as boring as any team I've seen in Hockey East in the past 15 years. They are good at what they do, but it's incredibly boring.

Thanks for the kind words.

I agree with you. My only caveat is that they win, unless they add style points as a bonus to the PWR.

Right. And that's an especially important caveat for fans of one of the biggest doormats in D1 hockey over the past 25 years.

You realize you're fishing with an argument that hasn't been relevant for two years, right?

Wilson's no longer eligible to win the Hobey? Or just doesn't stand a chance...

So as a fan of a team with several National Championships, you don't want your team to win? It's more important that they "not be boring"? Fair enough. Could BC please be entertaining as hell this weekend and lose? That would be super.

I think you've confused Lowell with Amherst.

With 59 teams in D1 hockey, say approximately 27 players per team, there are about 1,593 D1 players in the country. 1,592 of whom don't stand a chance to win the award this year.

To directly answer your questions: yes he is, no he does not.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

FYI - This was posted in the UML thread.

Not only is Saturday's game sold out, WinterFest is going on. Some roads will likely be closed and parking will be a CF. Doors are opening at Tsongas at 5:30 instead of 6 to accommodate the larger crowd.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Appreciate the heads up, is this a sellout with or sans tarps? Thanks!

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

Totally offtopic, but if there were a "Thread Title of the Year" award, I'd vote you to win it as much as I could.

Re: BC Hockey '13-'14: The Quest To Make Holy Cross Transitive Property National Cham

More one trick pony fun... to the best of my knowledge, here are the second lines for some of the other best teams in the country and their production, vs. the production for BC's second line. Someone correct me if I was wrong in identifying who the second line is.

Minnesota:
Kloos, Condon, Cammarata
26 pts, 18, 17.... 61 pts

Union:
Cruice, Vecchione, Ciampini
6, 18, 26... 50 pts

Lowell:
Campbell, Fallon, Chapie
6, 12, 21... 39 pts

Quinnipiac:
Peca, Clifton, St Denis
26, 9, 24 .... 59 pts

BC:
Fitzgerald, Cangelosi, Brown
25, 23, 21 .... 69 pts
