Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

That doesnt mean this movie wont suck...Disney makes plenty of clunkers ;)

In this case though, unless the rumors about the reshoots are true (which I never buy) and how Disney wanted a lot of the violence taken out the movie should be good. :)

I heard two things about the reshoots
1) the movie was too dark and they wanted to tone it down + increase the humor.
2) they wanted more Vader.

Right. They were adding a Vader stand-up act to lighten the mood.

The rumors regarding the reshoots are garbage. They were planned from the start, there was no overreaction from executives and there is no reason to worry. Someone who is even more of a freak than me noticed one of the reshoots in the trailer. When Forrest Whittaker gives his speech his hair is different in this trailer than in the earlier teaser. That speech certainly doesn't seem toned down. It's dark, it's gritty and it's powerful.

I didn't need a trailer to want to see this film. They had my money as soon as they announced it. But for people who hadn't been psyched before this really should do the trick.

And, unlike George, she knows that she could be fired by Disney if she starts failing at delivering good product.

True. I like to think she does the right thing because it's in her nature and not because the Sword of Damocles is hanging over her.

I dunno I could see why people who are on the fence might not be all in on this one. I think Disney feels this way as well which is why they added more Vader...

I never buy rumors abotu reshoots cause ****ed near every movie does them. It is easy quickbait fodder :)

Re: New Rogue One Trailer

Were the majority of the minorities from the days of the Rogue One universe killed off before A New Hope?

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Many Bothans were killed in obtaining the plans to the second Death Star, not the first. Know your Star Wars!

Son of a....:o

Going to have to watch the Original Trilogy again soon.

I watched the Resurrection of Jake The Snake Roberts...oh my lord that was awesome! My gf works with addicts so she watched it with me and she loved it to. To see where it started and where (and Scott Hall) are at the end is just remarkable.

Saw Beyond The Mat years ago, so I had to see this. Tragic, remarkable, all the feels. Great doc.

Sausage Party: A lot of puns, innuendo, some good movie references, and a very awkward 3-5 minutes towards the end of the film that probably was a lot of fun for the film makers, but just weird to watch. Most of the jokes are fairly predictable, but a few will probably catch you off guard. There's a religion/atheism thread running through the much of the movie, so just be aware of that if you're sensitive on the subject. On the whole, I'd say it's a C or C+.

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Just got notice that Animal House is coming back to the big screen this weekend. http://fathomevents.com/event/national-lampoons-animal-house

Just bought a ticket for the West End, for the locals. A little expensive at $12.50, but so worth it to see it on the big screen (too young to have done that).

This was as fun as I hoped it would be. Just a simple pleasure to finally see it in a theater. There is another showing this Wed, but don't know the time....

I'm tempted to take my about to start college son to the 2pm show Wednesday, but not sure I should spend $32 to do that.

Understandable.

For the classic movie fans, IIRC it's Aug 28, West End will be showing The King And I. I'm not interested enough to see it on the big screen, but I would think some others would be (and this is actually a nationwide thing that Turner Classic Movies does, through Fathom Events).

I have seen Animal House about 25 times...I like it but not enough to want to pay to see it in a theater. I save that for movies I havent seen usually ;)

Only 25?

I forget what station, it was USA or TNT or something like that, that showed Blues Brothers/Animal House back-to-back on NYE every year. It was a family tradition. As mentioned before, I am too young to have seen it on the big screen, so this was a treat for me. :)

I've seen it on TV but it is so edited in that case that I'd like to see it un-cut and on the big screen. But not for $16/seat.

I had it on VHS and a Special Edition DVD so I saw it in all its rapey glory :D

Electric Boogaloo: The Wild Untold Story Of Cannon Films

Kings of schlock, directors of such movies as Death Wish, Over The Top, Superman IV, along with Masters Of The Universe, American Ninja, and the Happy Hooker series of movies, as well as Breakin' and Breakin' 2 (where the title of this doc gets its name)...this is the movie that tells their story. I find it amazing as to how they did what they did, even though the movies they made were absolute crap.

It goes back and forth between "how the hell did these guys even get the money to make movies/chances to make these movies" and "I am rooting for them, because they are living their dream of making movies." It is a movie geeks' movie, but some normal movie fans still may enjoy it. I can't believe some of the movies they made (had no idea they did Superman IV, for example, and Last American Virgin, also).

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

I watched that a few months ago...interesting story though the doc was rather blah.

I'll concede that the format was standard "interview doc." It wasn't "King Of Kong" or "Fastball" or anything. But yes, very interesting story. Lots of info in there.
