Nope. China went around to the back of the store, picked up the labor that fell off the truck - that's where you find the really cheap labor.

My spoiler-free(ish) review of Independence Day: Resurgence

All film is subjective. I suppose there are people who will watch this film and enjoy it as a popcorn flick. I was not able to do that. I saw the jokes coming (the humor is BAD) and the "plot" twists are telegraphed. If you see this movie DO NOT try to figure any of it out. Don't ask why there were no Leap Years in two decades; do not wonder why a character is able to drive a station wagon and a school bus across the country in a single day; you should not wonder why a ship is able to escape untouched to monitor the alien spacecraft when there is a mile-wide whirlpool in the Atlantic..

If you are able to turn your brain off and just enjoy the ride you might find two hours worth of entertainment. I was not able to suspend my disbelief and found myself wishing I had gone to see Finding Dory instead.

Cold In July:

Guy kills home intruder, intruder's ex-con father stalks the family, particularly the guy's son. But of course, it runs much deeper than that.

It was categorized as film noir, so I was hesitant, but it was okay. Left a couple things unanswered which p*ed me off. If it weren't for that, I've have given it 4/5 stars, but as it is I gave it 3.

What is wrong with noir? In today's political, economic, and cultural climate, I've thought it's a genre ripe for modernization and revival, but thus far those thoughts have been pretty fruitless.

Generally not a fan of that style. I've tried a few, and many just don't get me INTO the movie. When I watch a movie like that (drama, intrigue, suspense, etc) I want to be lost in it. Noir doesn't usually cut it.

Huge fan of that style. L.A. Confidential is one of the best films of the last 20 years.

Wow...so this is definitely MST3K or bust huh? Sorry it sucked so bad...

They banked on nostalgia helping this film out...the problem is no one ever really wanted a sequel to ID4 it was a fun self contained story.

Yeah I tend to like noir but I never got the love of that one either. I kept waiting and waiting and atthe end just shrugged and never thought about it again.

Too bad about the ID sequel. Unfortunately my wife loathes ratings/reviews (only when they discredit something she wants to see ;)) and will probably still make me go see it in the theater.

I don't like the main guy at the Star Trib (Colin Covert). His reviews reek of being "that critic," one who hates a movie because everyone loves it, and vice versa.

Juvenile humor, completely ridiculous plot, and banal movie overall.

I laughed my arse off. Great mix of Old School and Animal House. Go for it if you just want stupid laughs, and want to enjoy stupid laughs.

It is possible to enjoy the ride. It takes a lot of suspension of disbelief and overlooking some bad acting and writing but it is possible. One of my Facebook friends gave the film a 7/10 and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

And while I was having a beer, albeit a strong one, it was simply a much-needed stupid movie to watch, after the day I had. For a repeat watching, it'd probably be on a Sat afternoon, killing time.

It's good for being what it is. And the sequel looks good along those lines. Zac Efron was surprisingly good as the character he had to play.

To be honest, it'd be a classic if you were with a bunch of friends and drinking. As it is, it's still pretty dam funny.
