Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

It's not a remake it's a reboot. Nothing they are doing does anything to diminish the original. Reboot and remake are two different things. Hell, Bill Murray is onboard. Dan Akroyd is onboard. That's all I need to know.

Dan Akroyd is a producer of course he is on board. He also hasnt done anything of value in what 20 years?

And you can call it whatever you like, it doesnt diminish the fact that trailers were underwhelming at best and annoying at worst. You can disagree but lets not pretend this was some conspiracy to hate the movie.

Bill Murray and Dan Akroyd likely have financial stakes in the movie. I'm waiting on that movie, if I see the thing it'll only be after reviews are in from the Average Joe and they're well beyond 'Meh.'

Agreed...which sucks because i love Paul Feig and 3/4 of the cast.

We'll see. Everyone ripped Jackson for Lord of the Rings. It was awesome. They then ripped him for The Hobbit. It sucked.

Personally I'm heartened by the bad trailers. Most of the time if the trailer is good I end up finding out that the trailer had the funniest parts of the whole movie and I should have just stayed home and watched trailers all night.

The studio should have moved ahead with Ivan Reitman and Dan Aykroyd's plan for Ghostbusters 3. It would have been the original ghostbusters passing the torch to their daughters/friends rather than this garbage that acts like the original never happened but has the original cast in cameos instead. This project had so much potential and Amy Pascal destroyed it.

Problem was Bill Murray hemmed and hawed over ever being a part of it. One day he would be all in favor and fully supportive then he would walk away saying he wants nothing to do with it.

They could have used the same cast with the same story and still had it be a continuation. Have the Ghostbusters retired and a new group follow in their footsteps because New York is in trouble. Those that want to be a part of it can be a part of it and those that dont can stay away.

I want the movie to be good, I am hoping it will be with every fiber of my being but nothing I have seen looks good. Most likely I will see it but I wont delude myself into thinking the trailers dont represent the film.

That said I would say the chances of it being good are way better than ID4: 2: Revenge of the Virus!!

What did they do with the key master and the gate keeper?

Aykoyd was on Larry King and said back in the early 2000s that they were ready to go ahead without him, but if Murray wanted back in there was always a place for him.

I imagine if a 1996 Apple iWhatever could successfully link up with alien technology, Windows 10 will far exceed anything the aliens have...

Re: Batman Vs Superman, And Oh Yeah, Suicide Squad: Movies Thread

It would be like remaking Back to the Future.

YOU SHUT YOUR *ING MOUTH. WE DON'T NEED TO HELP HOLLYWOOD MAKE BAD DECISIONS!

I was open to this new version, until I saw the trailers. I don't hate it b/c women. I hate it b/c it looks like pure suck.

Short Term Twelve:
A 20-something supervising staff member of a residential treatment facility navigates the troubled waters of that world alongside her co-worker and longtime boyfriend.

Tough watch. A little Hallmark-ish towards the end, but the grittiness (and even mundane moments) added enough realism to give the movie its rightful chops. The scene with the rap song/performance was really friggin' good, and for me, that highlighted what the movie was trying to say. Highly recommend. One of those where I wish "4.5" stars was a rating. Couldn't give it 5, but it's definitely more than a 4.

Zemekis owns the rights to Back to the Future and has said as long as he is alive it wont happen nor will any more sequels :)

He needs details in his will, Goddammit.

Yes I am serious, no I'm not a nutcase. ;)

Yeah and it still looks like a tightly coiled pile of steaming ****.

Plus it has Melissa McCarthy. Who may actually be the worst.

She's probably as good as I am: for about 30 seconds. ;) Different things, same timespan.

So it's a hot mess of unbelievability? Isn't that the point?

He says as much in his review (which isn't supposed to be published yet) when he calls it a popcorn flick. This is 2 hours of mindless fun. If you're going into this expecting Shakespeare you're going to be sorely disappointed.

It's what I'm going in expecting. If this movie makes any attempt to be serious or realistic I will be sorely disappointed.
