Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Oh hey, slavery was commonplace, too. Same with women's lack of rights. Just because it was the "right" thing to do then doesn't mean it's the right thing to do now.

Right and how exactly did those things change? Lots of laws were broken to end slavery and give women rights. (and many people died) Just sayin'

Is it possible your bias is seeping through here? I see you posting a lot about protesting on streets or at the mall and how wrong it is but whenever the topic of bad cops comes up it is very brief and you almost brush it aside. You talk about how the minority of cops are bad (and that is true) well the majority of American Citizens dont hate cops or want them dead as well...

I dont want cops to die, but I dont want citizens dying either.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

A bad cop is killed by someone, that someone is done.

Someone is killed by a bad cop, that bad cop gets away with it.

That's really all this boils down to. This is a situation that can not be fixed by continued violence. Doesn't matter which side figures it out first, either. There won't really be a "winner."

If you want to protest, then protest all you want. I'm all for it. I might even agree with the protesters. Just don't break the laws while protesting. The MOA protesters were told that protesting in the mall was illegal, they were offered an area to protest in that was visible to get their message across, and the protesters ignored all that and said F it. So, frankly, F the protesters. If they had done what MOA asked, more power to them.

I dont disagree but why all the outrage over that but next to nothing for the people killed by cops unjustly? Protests are a minor crime, an inconvenience. Killing someone does not compare and yet you pay it no mind. That is the point I am making. It looks like you have an axe to grind with the protesters and feel cops should have carte blanche...

Whats weird is you love old school rap like Wu Tang and Public Enemy right? What exactly do you think most old school rap is about? Its the same message we are talking about now. Violence begets violence, but justice isnt as blind as it is supposed to be. Things arent changing on both sides of the issue. Hell they talk about it in The U 30 for 30 where in the early 80s riots happened cause cops got away with shooting/beating to death blacks in the streets. Its a bad cycle yet we keep letting it happen and justifying it...which makes cops and criminals sound like kids with helicopter parents.

State of Hockey said it best, if this doesnt get figured out it will never change and there wont be a winner. Making excuses for either side only makes it worse.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

I've never excused an unjust killing. That CLE cop should never have been on the force; that was a horrible incident with that kid.

How I feel about illegal protests has nothing to do with how I feel about good/bad cops.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Radical concept. Stop shooting people! What possess a person to shoot another? It's farking stupid.

Point is that cops are in a dangerous profession, and these "bad cop"/protest stories are caused by a vast minority of "bad" cops. I'm tired of this "evil cop" mentality that is the cause of the day. It's farking bullsheet. People should be supporting the forces, not protesting them, because of cases exactly like this.

...yeah, no. Obviously, it goes without saying that what happened in NYC was beyond horrible. But that doesn't absolve the cops that are asshats from being asshats, either. For instance, the NYPD Union guy blaming this on the mayor? Fark him.

To paraphrase the great Jerry Falwell...

"The mayor, the president, the protesters, the media...I shake my finger in their face and say, 'You let this happen!'"

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Notice how nobody is victim blaming the cops or concern trolling and saying "if they didn't do x, y, and z wrong they'd still be alive!".

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Mike Brown assaulted Darren Wilson and attempted to get his gun before charging at him, all after committing a strong arm robbery.

The two NYPD officers were sitting in their squads while participating in an anti-terrorism drill.

Screw apples-to-apples, you're not even comparing different foods here.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

When did I say they did anything wrong? *woooooosh*
The reason the other two cases got "concern trolled," as you put it, is because they DID do things wrong. And considering Mike Brown's actions directly led to his death, at least if you believe in forensics and all that, then it's fair to say that had he not tried to grab Wilson's gun, he WOULD in all likelihood still be alive today.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Honest question, if the cops did something slightly wrong that compromised their safety, would you blame them for it? Obviously I wouldn't and I know you wouldn't either.

Now look at the kid who got gunned down in Cleveland and all of the "well he kinda deserved it" posts which aren't happening here after these officers got gunned down.

You keep bringing up the kid. No one is condoning/sympathizing with that officer.

If a cop decided to commit a crime, and was killed for it, then we're talking about similar things.

Next.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

You're still a fukking troll. I think most people agree the cops screwed up in Cleveland and New York.

Re: Bad Cop, Bad Cop, Whatcha gonna do?

Brent and that cop defender guy continuously point out what the kid did wrong before his death. As if it's in any way relevant.
