B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

BTN is being stated as a money boon. Curious who watches BTN and what is it that you watch?
Women's volleyball. I must admit, I really have a thing for pretty girls in short shorts and knee pads.

Aside from that? Football, hockey and baseball. I also have it on in the background more often than not, too.

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

In other words...Michigan hockey ;)

(This is going to take some getting used to)
You spelled "Wisconsin" wrong.

(I think I've already got the hang of this)

Everything has been weird. Especially, reading other "new" members threads.
I think it will be weird next season when multiple people actually post in a weekend game thread. I'm not used to there even being game threads.

Welcome to the big leagues.

The full prowess and potential of these boards will be revealed to you this fall/winter. I envy the wide-eyed wonder that only someone who is taking their first steps on an incredible new journey can have. :)

I also feel bad for your disappointment, disgust & dismay when you find out just how insufferable Gopher fans are, having to deal with them on a week to week basis. In some ways it will be good for you though as Michigan fans take a backseat to no one when it comes to insufferable fans who have an undeserved sense of arrogance that is based upon history rather than anything that their hockey (or football) team has done recently.

Again, welcome. :)

:p

I dunno, national runner-up three seasons ago wasn't ancient history. And I don't know what you categorize as "doing something"... a BCS win two seasons ago was more than some other B1G Ten football teams have done "recently", unless you mean winning that silly conference thing in Indy and then losing in a BCS bowl game. Happier days are ahead. :p

What's the excuse for your ilk - can't put it all on the paint thinner.

Yeah, it should say BADgers.

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Michigan sucks.
Michigan State sucks.
Ohio State sucks.
Minnesota sucks.
Penn State sucks.

I got the hang of this.

On Wisconsin

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Oh great. It just dawned on me that we'll have to put up with even more football talk polluting our threads on the hockey forums.

And I didn't think it was possible for me to dislike the formation of the Big10 conference more than I already did...

Get a football team and you won't feel so left out.

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

B1G exclusive hockey coverage must have better programing than the current big 10 sports presentations to survive. No sane sports fan will pay to chiefly watch endless replays of the history of big 10 sports. Current cable and satellite T.V. college sports conference contracts are depreciating as rapidly as you read this.

In theory, that should be helped by 40 B1G hockey games and a replay the next afternoon. But largely yeah...get ready for a summer of MSU/OSU gridiron repeats.

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

A little pro B1G talk here....the country's best sports conference? Guess who.

Directors Cup standings - 6 of the top 20 teams in the country for cumulative sports results are B1G after winter sports. Standings are so far:

Michigan 1
Penn St 3
Minnesota 7
Ohio St 15
Nebraska 16
Mich St 18

Get a football team and you won't feel so left out.

Not making the top 20: Iowa, Indiana, Northwestern, Illinois, Purdue...and Wisconsin.

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Nobody really cares about football on a hockey board except those that are not competing at hockey.

So you conveniently don't care about football but you're all about the Director's Cup standings?
