B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Holy Cross.

:p

Wow, you figured out what I was alluding too. How'd you get through my amazingly cryptic post?

No, Michigan has not been the #1 overall seed the last 3 years and lose to a vastly inferior team. Only instance was cornell and that's a rival, and Michigan was hosed by the refs having a goal waved off that would've decided it.

See? All about the refs. Replace them because it's all their fault.
And now it's okay losing to a rival in the tourney? um... okay.

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

Michigan won't be missing the tournament any time soon. Minnesota should be happy they made one in the last 4 years.

Do you have any thoughts on which program, between Michigan and Minnesota, has the richer tradition?

Michigan's because when they were dominating college hockey in the early years they were one of the only schools giving scholarships to it's hockey student athletes.

You won't rest until you get MGBH and Dubbs in one thread together. The result will probably look like this:

And that's if we're lucky.

As a true blue Michgian fan, all i can say is- wow, you guys are sure easy to bait. all this for one person's opinion. I'm sure he feels very good that you value his opinion enough that you need to change it.

(on another note- I do hope that many of you travel to away games. We, sadly, don't- but would be happy to meet some of you, or run into you in other than the frozen four. Yost may not be your stadium, but the rennovations do make it look pretty nice.)

Re: B1G Hockey: The Countdown Begins

.... Always nice to beat the dbags to the northeast in OT in the title game too.
I know everyone is having fun with selective statistics and all in this thread, but I gotta interrupt to find out who this team to the Northeast is. This is the second reference you've made in this thread. Each time I think you're referring to Sparty, but I'm sure I take I-96 West to get to East Lansing (oh, maybe it's the city's name that is misleading). So then, I start thinking maybe you're talking about LSSU...but they are pretty much due North. So, umm...Maine? Vermont? UNH? Cornell? Who is this team to the northeast?

Or is it that you live West of East Lansing, but one would assume that you are referencing direction based from Ann Arbor.

Ok, I now return you to discussions on who the greatest B1G program is.

Not sure what you mean. I was just asking an honest question coz I'm interested in the answer.

The One Who Shall Not Be Named's return is inevitable. It was foretold in the book of Mariucci and nothing any of us do will effect it either way - to speed it along or prevent it.

The pertinent part of the passage reads, "and at that time, when golden hues change to neon urine-bile, the time of respited bliss will come to an end with the return of the prophet."

We are mere pawns in a game that the gods play. I simply went e2 to e4.

To our new conference foes:

What's really happening in this thread is not unlike wolves and their packs in the wild. We are currently trying to establish the alpha male (Minnesota) and alpha female (Michigan), the beta wolf comes next in the pack (B1G) which is probably Wisconsin. On the bottom rung of the pack (B1G) we have the omega wolf (Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State) which is the weakest and least cared for normally. We all fight in the pack (B1G) but stick together when other packs (NCHC, Hockey East) try to take over or invade our turf.

At some point, the Beta Male (is this actually a wolf-term?) rips the throat out of the Alpha Male or drives him away and then mounts the Alpha Female. :D

Pretty much on a tee for ya there... :p

You must not know what we've all been through up to this point. We're all very used to this and some of us to enjoy it to a point. It's still new and fun with this guy so we'll enjoy it until it gets old and annoying, which doesn't usually take too long. :)

Not bait at all (as Tiggsy pointed out) you should visit a Gopher/Whioux/Sioux thread or even a Gopher/Bucky thread, this is nothing in comparison.

LOL- you make it sound like the WCHA relationship with UND has been basically water torture. Wait- now I remember some of their posters- I get your point....

Alas, one can only hope that blowholes like that don't stick around too long. I want to earn your contempt over time, not by being a jack wad a year before we start playing you on a regular basis. It should take time and be built up. Like the big O. ;)

Just seems like such a short fuse to be set off, that's all.

Hate should take some effort. Real work. Not some baseless claims that mean little in 2013. Well, I guess JD thinks that your program will dominate the B1G thanks to the efforts in the '30s, but kind of hard to change those kinds of minds.

I think most of us will really do slow things to make you hate us. Not that you don't already- don't get me wrong- I know you hate us. Just the right kind of contempt for the hockey program. :)
