Austin Smith Colgate

Re: Austin Smith Colgate

One goal and two assists in his five conference playoff games will not help his cause.

Struggling with the math a little there, too. Huh ?
Austin Smith had two goals and three assists in his five conference playoff games. I think his five points were as good as any of the other top Hobey candidates. No; his team didn't win its conference tournament,
but then again neither did Connolly or Abbott.

The other Smith, who the Dallas Stars should keep their grimy hands off of this offseason, had a 4-6-10 line in 4 playoff games. Probably not considered a "top" Hobey canidate though.

You're right. Nobody has finished stronger than Reilly. Ten points in the four playoff games, plus 4 or 5 more the weekend before. If Hobey balloting were in the hands of the NCAA basketball selection committee, then Reilly would certainly have the 'momentum" factor on his side. My bad for his exclusion in my "other top Hobey candidates", the prevailing comparisons for Austin have been against those other two I mentioned.
