Atlantic Hockey playoffs

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

Well, it wasn't Torf last night. he was pulled after the 3rd UConn goal and Caple had to finish the game. The tournament next week will be as wide-open as it has been in years. Anyone of the four that make it could win it.

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

I enjoyed the series between MU and HC. It is always nice to see and talk to Coach Pearl when he visits Erie. His players are very nice as well. Not so much for the 4 drunk fathers standing by the glass making fools of themselves with the ugly language. Not real classy fella's.

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

So the tournament is set:
Early game: Air Force & Mercyhurst
Late game: Niagara & RIT

Top 4 seeds advance. Playoffs have held true to seeding thus far.

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

So, a western pod final AHA four, but three eastern pod teams gave the western pod teams some competition this weekend. Sorry that I no longer have a good enough reason to visit BCA next weekend, but best wishes for the tourney. Maybe next year Bentley will make it. I really liked the parity in the AHA this season.

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

really really good Air Force game. UConn can be proud - they played tough and it came down to the last seconds.

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

UConn is much better--almost to the level of the big New England state schools. A few more years (and a rink) and they'll be ready for Hockey East.

Re: Atlantic Hockey playoffs

Thanks for the kind words. We're proud of the fight our Huskies put up.

I just want to say I am proud of the Mercyhurst Lakers. With 12 freshman, who would have thunked they would make the the top 4 in the AH. I am sure Mercyhurst did but realisticly, they shouldn't. I believe they were ranked 7th before the season started. As a fan, I say this is all gravy now but I am sure the players aren't satisfied yet. This bodes well for the Lakers the next 3 years as this playoff experience will only make them better. The series against Holy Cross was a great series against a great team and coach. I always enjoy them when they come to town.
