And the new villain(s) for The Dark Knight Rises are...

Re: And the new villain(s) for The Dark Knight Rises are...

I hope that having two villians does not clutter Nolan's Batman. Kilmer's Batman suffered from TwoFace/Riddler and the Clooney Batman was just plain awful with Bane/Poison Ivy/Mr. Freeze.

I imagine he handles Bane/Catwoman much like he did Two-Face/Joker. He's been very smart about it. It's amazing what actual writers can accomplish.

Having multiple villains isn't what made those movies abysmal.

Apprently they make two mediocre scripts and sew them together.

Because of the cartoony factor, I'm thinking that Bane will have already beaten his venom addiction. I am excited that it seems like he will be portrayed as the highly intelligent guy he is supposed to be (one of the few that knows Batman's real identity), not a mindless goon henchman.

LOL.

The writing for Ledger's Joker is about as good as it gets. Even someone who hates that film should see that. One of the best written villian performances of all time.

"Do I really look like a guy with a plan?" and some of the other Joker lines are, I admit, very good.

I watched the film again (it seems to be on TV all the time these days) and didn't hate it nearly as much as the first time through. It has a ton of problems (too long, Batman's boring scenery-chewing, a very un-Nolan-ish leaden hamfistedness permeating the whole thing) but truth be told it is no longer among the worst movies I've ever seen. By the time I see it the 4th or 5th time it will have slouched towards mediocrity.

I dare you to watch Manos the Hands of Fate 5 times. And not the MST3K version either.

Not so fast...rumors swirling that the Falcone rumor is false.

Re: And the new villain(s) for The Dark Knight Rises are...

That rumor could just be a rumor.

Are you saying the internet is...WRONG  ;) :p

The rumor of the rumor comes from Entertainment Weekly so it gets a 50/50 out of me.

Re: And the new villain(s) for The Dark Knight Rises are...

Not exactly Dark Knight news though some is contained within: http://spinoff.comicbookresources.c...-new-justice-league-plans-to-reinvent-batman/

So now the WB is going to do the Justice League (for 2013) and apparently even though they will reinvent Batman after the Dark Knight Rises (probably so they can have a Batman in Justice League since Bale said he was not going to do it) Nolan and his wife will be staying on still involved only as producers. (which should make it flow better overall I would hope) One has to wonder if then with Nolan staying involved with Batman and his involvement with Superman if now Nolan wont become the head of the DC Movie Universe.

WB has stated they want the DC movies to take the place of the Harry Potter movies as the summer tentpole movies...it seems for once they werent BSing. If they can keep Nolan involved who knows what the future holds

Sounds like a good stratagy to me. The only problem is that Marvel would be doing a lot of movies as well, most likely either X-Men or Avenger related. It just might happen that with both of them cranking out big budget CGI driven affairs all the time, people might just turn away from the comic book themed movies. The best thing that they both have going for them though is that pretty much everybody in comic books all have a pretty good fan base already for them, and a good backstory as well, which will help out a ton with marketing.
