Did you watch the Rose Parade today? NorthwesternMutual/NCAA float highlighting the non-revenue producing sports.
On the top of the float Denver #44 Women's Lacrosse player/Goalie, Hannah Hook. Several good shots of her. Hannah a preseson 4th team All American. Jill Renemencapp(sp)--2nd team .

Congratulations to Will Butcher, selected one of best three players on Team USA!

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Denver trailed 2-0 late in the second period before Ty Loney and Danton Heninen scored goals in short order to tie the score. A third period hat trick by Trevor Moore--one each on either side of a tally by Brown and an empty-netter--gave Denver a 5-3 win over Brown, thereby avoiding what would have been an embarrassing loss for the Pioneers. We'll see how the rest of today's results effect Denver's PWR.

Now I quote old pio,
As the guy with the speech impediment would say: "thit."

Was all set for another 4:00 pm game.:(

Thanks for the update ASaaG. Sounds like the Pios did not break out of some form of lethargy until the game was half over.

Big kudos to Trevor Moore. Heinen has been getting more "love" from fans and media. Maybe Moore and Heinen will both be on a scoring spree for the 2nd half of the season.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

I was happy to see TJ in net for Denver again, and even more happy for the DU win. Like Jay Stickney said on the radio, this could prove to be very important in the rankings later on. Yesterday I took the wife's Jeep to BrakesPlus - oil change, front brakes and 4 tires. We're driving to Omaha next Thurs to see both games. Looking forward to an Omaha steak

Big weekend coming up for DU at UNO. Although all of the games aren't finished tonight DU sits at 15 in PWR (on the bubble) and UNO at 5. DU with some wins next weekend will move up in PWR and get more points in the league standings. Have to start winning against teams that are above DU in PWR and the NCHC standings.

BC beat Dartmouth so I guess BC gets #1 in the Ledyard and DU #2.

So all the Pios have to do is sweep 2 games with UNO, and UMD, and UND; 4 games with Miami; and 3 games from cc because "cc sucks" and it's fun.:D

Might as well win the NCHC Championship again That was fun too.:D

Good News Beau is Back!
From penguins/nhl.com on 12/31/14
in his first game back looked phenomenal. He created all over the ice, he was really, really good with Sutter and Kunitz. I thought that line had a lot of open ice, a lot of that because of him. If you think about what the Penguins have been missing, when you see Beau Bennett it makes you really optimistic for the rest of the season if he can stay healthy.

As a reminder:
missed the first month of the season
played in 7 games--3 points
missed over a month due to new injury
has played in 3 games...so far 1-2-3

Beau's New Year's resolution, "his biggest goal for the new year is playing 10 games in a row. “I just want to play hockey. That’s it.”

Ooops, I forgot St Cloud mightas well sweep them too:D

Up to #10 on USCHO

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Danton Heinen NCHC Rookie of the Week again.

Heinen and Trevor Moore on the all Tounament team at the Ledyard.

BTW, what does it take for Trevor Moore to win Offensive Player of the week?
Hat Trick plus assist on Saturday--not enough. Hmmmm. Guess 2 Hat Tricks at UNO might do it. ;)

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Popping in to let DU Fan know that Friday night's game can be streamed, online, freebie, on NETV's web site (Nebraska Public Television) and it is a great hi-def feed, too. The game Friday is being televised, statewide, on Nebraska Public Television. They also always stream these televised games on their web site.

Here's the link:

Enjoy.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Arrgh. Ugly way to lose a game: blowing two leads. Gotta get two points tonight.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Friday night, when it was 3 zip, we had visions of a sweep dancing in our heads. Well, it was a sweep, just not what we were thinking about. Give all the credit in the world to UNO. For the Pioneers, it's back to the drawing board.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Man, getting swept last weekend has surely shut us the fark up.

Need a big bounce back this weekend.

OP, Drew Shore and Joe Colborne are in Phoenix tonight and playing on the same line.
