Pios Still Skating

AHL Playoffs
William Wrenn--Texas Western Conference Finals
Peter Mannino--Wilkes-Barre Eastern Conference Finals

Team USA bowed to the Czechs 4-3 done in by the Czechs power play -- 2 goals on a 5 min. major and losing the USA Captain to a game misconduct.

Congrats a fine season.

Duke came from behing to win the title. As far as I'm concerned the Dukies don't need anymore titles this month.:D

Exactly. Feeling fairly confident about our Pioneers this weekend. If we can win half the faceoffs, I feel that whatever game plan that Brown and Tierney come up with will be well-executed by this talented group of players. 2 excellent goalies, the best midfielder (?) in the country, a couple of shut-down defendemen, and 4 or 5 marquee-type offensemen certainly could get the job done. Just gotta be able to slow the game down enough so Duke doesn't go on some kind of a crazy run 5-goal run. And I'm very much hoping that Duke gets frustrated and takes as many stupid penalties as Drexel did last weekend.

No Sunshine in Pittsburgh
The Penguins also announced a four-month recovery time for forward Beau Bennett, who had wrist surgery Thursday.

Bennett missed four months during the regular season with the injury, and also was scratched from Game 7 of the Penguins' Eastern Conference Second Round series against the New York Rangers because of soreness in the wrist.

Hope this injury heals and we can watch him next year.
Speedy and total recovery, Beau!

Just heard on tonight's Stanley Cup broadcast that it's Rich Preston's birthday. For me and other DU fans of my vintage that will bring back memories. The Sarge.

The ladies play four rounds in the championships, so Tonje can still move up the leaderboard.

****, USCHO made me change my password. Lax update: Team arrived late Wed. in Balt. Good time to rest up and study. They had NCAA obligations yesterday. I hear they can be seen on ill.com insidelacrosse.com. I'm starting my drive down in 30 minutes. Boone in my trunk. Picking up Boone posters on my drive down. Damien on 30 minute hold in Houston. Boone flying in tonight with his handler. I am so pumped. Another NJ fan has Mega Boone.
I'll keep you updated. Lots of photos should be on Facebook at DU have spirit and other places.

peace, Dunker Go DU

Great job, Dunker. Boone and Mega Boone got awesome coverage in the last game in ESPNU, time to step it up for ESPN2!

Interesting article in lacrosse revenue for the final four teams. Notre Dame is a big loser, and Denver is the only one turning a profit, although it is only a one dollar profit, apparently!

Man, it's amazing what a committed DU fan can do. Boone and Mega Boone were mucho impressive last week. And I want 'em to rock the house this weekend. Thanks for everything you've done.

My pleasure and honored to have kept Boone safe for the past week

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

Too bad to see atypical turnovers and fruitless possessions cost Denver the game. Getting it back to 11-10 showed that we could have played with Duke, but unfortunately never gave ourselves too much time to stay there.

Great season and lots to look forward to. Tierney has been worth every penny spent to get him.

Loss of poise in the second quarter, against the top-seeded team, made it nearly impossible to come back to win this one. 95% of scoring returning next year. Eventually, the Pioneers will be able to turn the corner in the Final Four. Tierney has put DU lax on the map and was a terrific "get." Here's hoping we'll shortly be able to say the same about Monty.

Way to go Pios.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVIII: On To Better Days!

I wrote a lengthy summary of event yesterday. Got timed out and erased. Maybe tomorrow. Some at game yesterday know or knew you.

Come Tuesday, DU lax 2015 pre-season #1. Bank on it. 1,000 fans yesterday. There were tears after this loss.bb
