Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

11/3/12 Denver wins 6-1

Losing Streak
1. 01/18/13 St Cloud 5-2
2. 01/19/13 St Cloud 5-1
3. 01/10/14 St Cloud 6-3

Streak over
01/11/14 Denver 5-2

Guess this is similar to a 3-3 win

And then there's:

Pathetic

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Didn't see any of last night's game, but DU has to feel good about earning a split vs a very very good St. Cloud team. Friday night was tough sledding, but to bounce back last night shows a good deal of resiliency.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Right up there with the regular goof-up at Magness in between periods when they say now let's check-in with the scores around the NCHC and post nothing but games from Atlantic Hockey. I'm thinking it must be Stickney punching it in on his flip phone while he munches down on his chilli dog. :) Slick operation!

The real challenge at Magness is "Spot the Mistake on the Corner Scoreboard." There's always at least one spelling mistake. Every single game. I love it when North Daokata loses.

Again Friday night, I'm pretty sure it had the scores reversed. That's the second time I've seen it. Running a scoreboard isn't exactly like teaching an ape to play Chopin.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Well, if the Polish cavalry was willing to take on the Panzers, we should at least show up. ;)

The Carolina Panzers are gonna get their lunch handed to 'em this week by the 49ers. The Panzers are playin' at home and they're still a two point underdog. Them Panzers is a buncha overrated hacks.

Maybe. But Heinz Guderian really knows how to build a team through the draft.

Final: 49ers 23 Panzers 10

It's like I told ya all week: them Panzers is a buncha overrated hacks. That guy mighta known how to build through the draft but he didn't know the difference between a bliztkreig and a screen pass. Not only that, but his footing was atrocious because Heinz spilled ketchup all over his johnson and couldn't get any traction. It's on to Seattle for the niners. ;)

So I am now a proud member of Pioneer Vision for another 29 days.... and I have a few questions. Is that just home games, or can you watch away games too? And it looks like on Saturday the 25th they have a game at home against UND but its on ROOT... does that mean that Pio Vis won't cover the game?

Primarily home games--exceptions I think WMU amd Miami (Neu-Lion stream). Root rules over PioVision for video, but you can always listen to Jay Stickney call the game and loyal Pio fans on the scoring thread count the cliches. :D

Afraid you got a bad month for hockey.

Nice article on David Carle in today's Post. David certainly seems to have a bright future in coaching.

I remember Matt saying that David was better than he. Makes you wonder how good David could have been at DU.

There's also an article on former CC player Scott Winkler. Sounds as though he may have been afflicted by HCM as well, although it went un-diagnosed.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Nice rebound win on Saturday. I saw some very good play by DU on Friday night, too. But the wheels kind of fell of in the 3rd period on Friday.

Below is a link to highlights from Saturday night. Anyone know why St. Cloud coach and Montgomery were arguing at the end of the game (they appear to be arguing towards end of the video)

http://www.denverpioneers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=18600&ATCLID=209369459

Vizoroo had this explanation over in the weekend series thread. I also heard it before the post game came on.

There was a bit of "off air" conversation between Monty and Stickney prior to post game and it went something like this.
Monty, spoke to scsu player(s) about running Brittain.
Motzko, why are you talking to my players?
Monty, because you won't talk to me.
Motzoko, well of the three- 1st one wasn't a penalty and the next 2......click then silence

Jay doesn't usually turn off the mic, but someone must have. Just when it was getting good

DU at 16 in new USCHO Poll and at 26 in PWR. The only NCHC school in the top 16 in PWR is SCSU at #5. DU still has 2 games left with them in St. Cloud and no games left with any other team in the top 16. DU has 14 games left, all in the NCHC plus the NCHC playoffs. They also only have 5 home games left and 9 road games. DU just needs to win if they have any hopes of getting in the top 16 in PWR. The best way they can probably make the NCAA tourney is by winning the NCHC playoffs and get the autobid. To win 20 games in the regular season DU has to go 10-4 the rest of the way. It is not going to be easy but if DU can play like they did Saturday night and get some big wins they might get there. Those out of conference losses to UAA, UAF and Canisius are going to hurt their PWR no matter what.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Piovision does basically home games that are not on Root or any other major network. (NBC or CBS College sports) However, check it out for a road game for you might get lucky. Sometimes another school will allow Piovision to pick up their stream. (RPI did) Good to look at schedules on denverpioneers.com the week before the game.
Don't fret. You will also get DU home basketball games under the same parameters. Also Lacrosse. Lax is a plus, for you get to watch the team that will win it all on Memorial Day.

I'd sure like to get a Mulligan on those early losses.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

There's seems to be a difference of opinion regarding Denver's current PWR.You say toe-may-toe. And I say toe-mah-toe. Toe-may-toe, toe-mah-toe, crosschecking, icing. Let's call the whole thing off!

[But not before sweeping the Duluths.]

I think CHN's PWR is not including the home/road weighting and QWB (quality wins bonus). The note above the chart says this:

Note: This chart is updated as each game result comes in. The final RPI does not currently reflect home/road weighting and QWB.

The USCHO PWR appears to incorporate these.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Defenseman Blake Hillman of the Dubuque Fighting Saints has committed to DU. He is from Elk River Minnesota, 6'1" and 170 pounds. He was born 1/26/96. He is a defensive d-man with 1 goal and 6 assists for 7 points in 29 games and is +12. Not sure when he is coming as he will turn 18 at the end of this month and is a senior in HS. I guess he could be a true freshman next season. Also it looks like Jared Fiegl has or was de-committed to/by DU.

I was just going to post that Fiegl is #100 in North American skaters mid-term ranking by CSS.
Add: Jared has only played in 4 games this season:confused:

Guess we shouldn't be surprised by changes in recruits from the Gwoz era.
That leaves Garrett Gamez(2014), Dylan Gambrell (2015), both are playing in the USHL, and Colorado Thunderbird Troy Terry (2016).
