Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Some areas in the snowbelts of Upstate New York especially northeast of Syracuse are expected to get 2 to 6 feet by Wednesday. Buffalo is expected to get 2 to 3 feet today. The water in the Great Lakes is much warmer than the air temperature creating huge lake effect snows.

Yikes! When I was at Goose Air Base in Labrador, it got down to -35 once with wind chill of -100. I knew guys who were Air Policemen, walking the perimeter of the base armed with M-16s and dogs. I've always been convinced they'd turn those dogs loose or shoot you in the a*s out of resentment or boredom. They had so much snow, with the stuff piled so high at intersections, it was like driving in a tunnel. The crews sprayed purple dye at intersections to give you some idea of depth perception and that an intersection was approaching.

Some good news! I earned and received a season photography credential from DU for the rest of the season. I am planning on shooting both games this weekend, so hopefully I will have get some good shots to share with everyone.
Guess Randy Press can do something right.:)
Now could you convince to put the line charts up prior to game time? Like a link on the gameday page. (preferably not on Twitter)

Chris Peters assesses WJC forwards.

Quentin Shore (OTT) — Shore played a fourth-line role for Team USA and was somewhat limited in the impact he could make, but he did have some really nice moments in the tournament. He was solid in defensive situations and was a good penalty-killer. Shore is not the fleetest of foot, which was noticeable at times in the tournament, but he still managed to be effective. Shore had a few good efforts on draws as well, particularly against Russia when he won seven of nine faceoffs. I was a little surprised Shore ended the tournament without a goal, but he did only manage five shots. He has a really solid release, but I think in his role, the offensive side of his game was significantly curtailed. Tough tournament to judge completely, but Shore was solid when called upon and did a lot of little things really well in terms of getting engaged in the defensive zone. 5 GP, 0-2–2, 0 PIM

Beautiful sunny day in NYC; 5 degrees with wind chill of -16, was 55 degrees 24 hours ago.

Pretty typical Denver weather pattern going on. 60's, then snow the next day. Low of -11 on Sunday night, but got above 50 today.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Let the record show Saint Cloud is 8-0-0 on the road thus far this season, has alowed a total of 14 goals in those eight games while allowing as many as three goals only twice in that stretch. Saint Cloud has scored a robust 37 goals in those fourteen games and has not been held to fewer than three goals in any of those fourteen games. Said in other words: Sam Brittain will need to be stellar this weekend even to give Denver a chance to earn a point.

Well, if the Polish cavalry was willing to take on the Panzers, we should at least show up. ;)

The Carolina Panzers are gonna get their lunch handed to 'em this week by the 49ers. The Panzers are playin' at home and they're still a two point underdog. Them Panzers is a buncha overrated hacks.

Maybe. But Heinz Guderian really knows how to build a team through the draft.
