Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Do you blow it up ot kick it? That's a good one. Everybody knows it's neither. You serve it and generally do so with a cut spin, low to the backhand side, in the deuce court.

Blow it up or kick it. You're a real card alright. :p

Metro fans are feeling pretty salty after their epic comeback to win last year's NC$$ carjacking championship.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

I think Brown was recently rated one of the most attractive student bodies in the country. And I believe it. If you walk around campus all you see is model-esque figures and faces.

While I don't dispute the truthfulness of your post, I'd like to know who did the voting and what their methodology was. Hard to imagine Brownettes are better looking than the ladies at, say, SMU or Texas or Florida or Miami or USC or UCLA or ASU or Arizona, just to name a few. Best looking in the Ivy? Better looking than the ladies at Metro? That's possible. But in Radio Days you'll recall Woody Allen's mom reminds her husband that one of the boy's aunts was always considered the best looking of the sisters. To which his dad replies: "Some contest."

The name change wasn't the point of why locals aren't supporting DU. It was DU's meddling with Metro State in the Golden Dome is what caused the rift.

Questions The answers I usually get
"Which school most resembles the community?" Metro State
This question is, of course, a non-sequitur, but even if it weren't, how do people figure Metro State more closely resembles the community? Which segment of the community? In what way? Stupid question with no answer.

Demonstrate. In fact, I highly doubt the veracity of this.

"Which students will be part of the community after they graduate?" Metro State
Let's see, students at a commuter college are more likely to stay in the area after graduation? Some real rocket scientists figured that one out. Here's an interesting follow-up. Which school do you suppose draws more students INTO the community, who then stay for life? The same rocket scientists can probably figure out that this one is DU. And that this answer is equally meaningless.

"If the situation was reversed would Metro State meddle with DU?" No
Again, I highly doubt the veracity of this. ALL large institutions do what they feel is necessary to protect their intellectual property rights. If the situation were reversed, I promise you, Metro would have done the same thing.

Of course, my question is, what is the point of all this? Do you have some agenda, or are you just here spreading nonsense?

Give the guy a break, would ya? USCHO.com exists for fans of college hockey, and this series of threads in particular, to talk about DU hockey. Sadly, there's no website for welfare cheating and food stamp fraud (both of which Metro students and alumni excel at) so he figures he'll just post here in the alternative.

I've just taken a moment to look at some of the recent posts in this thread and notice that you and a poster named Roadrunner have been exchanging bon mots. Hmmm, if the other poster is named Roadrunner that would make you Wile E Coyote. Say, has an anvil fallen on your head recently? Uh-oh, this isn't going to end well for you.

That's a great quote; I got a chuckle out of it.

But 19th in the country is pretty good, I'd say. Certainly different than in the last. It's funny to see our schools rated so similarly in that poll.

I see by their 2014 catalogue, Acme's got a bunch of sweet new sh*t available. I'm optimistic.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Paul Stastny makes the U.S. Olympic roster.
Congats to "Stats"!
Remember when he came back to Magness after the 2010 Olymics with his Silver Medal?

Other big news from Ann Arbor, DU's Tyler Bozak scored what was then the go ahead goal for the Leafs and the game winner in the shootout to defeat Detroit.

Just did a quick count and 12 of the 25 Olympians played in the "old" WCHA!

If DU fans can't handle talking about anything other than hockey, don't you that would be intellectually poor for such a "grand institution"?

This post has more holes than Mitt Romney's missing tax returns (Cayman Islands, Switzerland, and many other places where Bond villains hide their money).

"Wait, just a minute folks Karl Rove says the numbers for Ohio are wrong..."

I don't blame you. I blame the bubble and alternative reality that you live in.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

We've got hockey tomorrow at home against Brown. DU will have everyone available except for Q and Will Butcher who are with Team USA in Malmo. They lost to Russia this morning and are now out of the tourney. I would think they will be returning to the US within the next 24 hours. This probably means that we will have Q and Butcher for SCSU next weekend, a crucial NCHC series.

Chambers with a nice article on Trevor Moore in the Denver Post.

We're all overwhelmed with your intellect and grasp of the obvious. USCHO, however, has political threads, why not post there? Unless you're a professional Metro a*s clown? Your PO know what you're up to?

BTW, genius, the first sentence of your last post is missing something. Oh, yes, a verb. Were you the editor of Metro's literary magazine?

DU fans: I'll be in Denver next weekend (coming from Minneapolis) and would like to catch the DU/SCSU series while there. Are tickets easy to get at the window about an hour before game time? If so, are there usually any cheap seats left?

You won't be sitting between the blue lines, but yes, you'll be able to get tickets an hour before game time at the boxoffice.

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

I'm a pro at going to games at the last minute and getting great seats. I usually purchase from fans with xtras (or they give them to me). Just curious, are there scalpers outside of Magness before games?

Re: All Things Denver XXXVII

Former DU recruit Landon Smith is heading to Quinnipiac next season.

PO? It's about time this thread took a literary bent and it's a pleassure to see you referencing Edgar Allen [the] PO. Oh, that Eddie he was a barrel o'laffs.

Ah, broken is the golden bowl! the spirit flown forever!
