Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

DU 19 Albany 14. And a Boone sighting on the tube! All in all a pretty good day.

I am not much into lacrosse, but I have to say if it was as big as it is now when I was in HS I wouldv'e played it. It's fantastic. I tuned in to watch UAlbany play Denver, and I have to say as good as UAlbany's offense has been this year, Denver did a great job of shutting them down. It seemed to me that if Albany could have won a **** faceoff (scrum?) they would have had a much better shot at closing the gap, especially in the last quarter.

Hockey has a Hat Trick. Now I know Lacrosse has a Sock Trick.
:rolleyes:Did anyone throw their socks on the field yesterday?
;)Did Wes Berg take off his Socks?
:pDid he throw his socks into the stands?
:eek:Does anyone want game worn socks?

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Since the 2012-13 season ended over 30 days ago and recognizing Raloh Baer's calculation in the RPI thread:

Today is May 13, 2013.
There are 146 days until DU's next game
.

This is based on an exhibition game October 6, 2013 to start season.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

DU released the schedule today - 36 games, 24 conference games and 12 non-conference

https://www.nmnathletics.com//pdf9/2176885.pdf?DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=18600

In December, January and February the team plays a total of nineteen [19] games. Six [6] games at home, thirteen [13] games on the road, with no home games in December and one home game in February. The team will certainly have the opportunity to show whether or not it's a collection of 'road warriors' in that stretch.

December--no students Why not play on the road? Single game with UMass is a little odd.
January--1 game with Brown--surprised they don't have a travel partner
February-Having only 1 home game is weird:eek:

Really like having Home and Home with Air Force! Hope this continues and becomes a tradition for both schools.

I would think that DU won't return home after playing at RPI. It's a simple drive, about 100 miles, mainly on I-90.

BTW, I am impressed that the schedule reads RPI and not a misspelled version of Rensselaer.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Very simple answer: Student ticket revenue is not what drives the bottom line for Denver hockey. December is a good time to bring other fans--who would pay full price for single game tickets--to Magness Arena. By not playing any home games in the month of December, DU hockey slips from the mind of Denver's hockey fans. I've never agreed with the paucity of home games played in December.

Yes, Denver plays 18 home games and 18 road games this season, but in a combined two calendar months--December & February--the team plays one home game. In terms of spreading the home games on something resembling an even basis this is a tough year for the Pioneers. My $.02.

As opposed to a tradition for just one of them?:D

Canisius, Niagara, and Brown must each have another game in the neighborhood. CC? AFA?
