It’s great to see all these young men doing so well. An example of the amazing program that Gwoz built and another part of the legacy of DU hockey.

John Buccigross of ESPN tweeted that Gwoz is in intense discussions to become the new head coach at UCONN. He reportedly spent the last two days in discussions with them.

I could totally get behind that. UConn is in a great league, and he could probably have a pretty immediate positive effect on the program. Plus, it would be a nice switch to have an eastern team to actually root FOR.

Cameron Flint and Wesley Berg each had a hattrick for the Pioneers.

Denver advances to the ECAC final on Saturday. Game will be televised by Root Sports.

Denver will play Ohio State in the ECAC final. Ohio State beat Loyola 18-11.

Denver beat the Buckeyes 10-9 in Columbus 10-9 on March 9th.

The Denver-OSU game will be telecast by Root Sports at 2:00 P.M. Mountain time this Saturday afternoon. .

DU Women's Lax defeated USC 17-11 and will face the winner of the Cal vs Stanford game on Sat. in the MPSF final

Final score in the ECAC Men's Lacrosse Championship game:

Denver 10

Ohio State 11

The game winning goal was scored with 22.7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Denver trailed most of the day. The score was tied 6-6 at halftime. Denver led only once, 8-7, in the third quarter.

The NCAA tournament selection show is Sunday night on ESPNU. Denver is quite likely to get a first round home game in Barton Stadium next weekend. Tickets go on sale Monday morning at nine o'clock Denver time. They will be available at the Ritchie Center Box Office and online.

Interesting tidbit, Viz. We could use a young goalie; not to mention one familiar with Coach. Judging by the fact that he's competing for a league championship, it sounds like he's pretty darn good. Makes sense to me. Let him & Brittain push each other

Here's a little more on JZ:
Jason Zucker is clutch.
While in Houston, the rookie tied for the American Hockey League lead in game-winning goals. Tonight he scored his first playoff goal in dramatic fashion, 2:15 into overtime to give the Wild its first win of the series.
For many State of Hockey fans, Zucker’s goal probably trumped an earlier play for his highlight of the night. Not for me. With time expiring at the end of the second period, Zucker lined up Brent Seabrook and hammered him. Seabrook fell to the ice and Zucker stood over him like a boxer who just landed a knockout punch. I wasn’t the only fan of the play.
“I like seeing that, too,” Yeo said with a smile when asked about Zucker’s physical play.
