Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

This should be interesting. Denver's opponent in the first round of the ECAC post-season lacrosse tournament is Fairfield. The Stags beat Denver 10-9 in overtime on April 20 in Barton Stadium to give the Pioneers their only defeat in ECAC regular season play. The defeat also knocked Denver from its #1 ranking in the polls.

I don't know if Denver will beat Fairfield, but my hunch is that coach Bill Tierney will have the team's undivided attention next week and that practices will be, uh, spirited.

Go Denver! Beat the Stags!

Payback is a b*tch.

DU 12 Michigan 4

I'm really of two minds here. On the one hand (sniff) I hate to see the fine lads (snuffle) from Meechigan stomped into jelly. On the other hand, I'd generally root for a team of pedophiles against Big Boo.

So:

Now say what you mean don't hold back, Old Pio. :p

Jay Z called up by Wild for tonight's game
Colborne getting a lot of ice time for Toronto tonight. Playing with Lupul. Bozak injured or on maintenance.

DU Hockey Awards last night, (Had to be a little awkward.)
Jussi won all the Juicy Awards--MVP, 3 Star and Best Defensive Player.
VIVA!! Viva won the Murray Armstrong for most improved.
Zajac--top freshman
Larkin Jacobson in a rut, getting boring with his 4.0's--Scholar Athlete
Ostrow, Nick Shore, Knowlton and Murray picked up the other awards.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Yeah, it was a beautiful day to watch lacrosse, and always good to see Michigan get stomped, especially by DU. Though Ohio State always gives the best stomping, in my humble opinion.

Good crowd. And what a pre game party in the tailgate section--raucous, crowded and it sure looked fun. But too bad a lot of the kids didn't realize that there was a lacrosse game to attend 100 feet away, too. That DU student body...always interesting.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Hope he gets a chance to play.

Wonder if the Kings will give Nick Shore a number? Guess he does get NHL money if he's on the roster.
Manchester snuck into the AHL Playoffs--might have had a chance to play there at least a game or two.

Unless someone gets hurt I doubt Matt will play. He and the rest of the "Black Aces" will get to travel with the team during the playoffs and practice with them.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

Tomorrow both Men's and Women's Lacrosse begin their conference tournaments as the #1 seed.
Men's lacrosse vs Fairfield 3:00PM Mountain somewhere on the Fox networks.
Women's lacrosse vs USC at 5:30 PM Mountain will be streamed live on pac-12.com (specific link on DU site)

Next week women's golf and men's tennis begin NCAA Regional play.

Re: All Things Denver--XXXV

When will DU announce the 2013 hockey schedule? The league has already posted it; but I'm curious how the ticket prices will look, for renewals. And by my calculations, we have fewer home games. I hope I'm right on that........
