Paul Stastny's Colorado Avalanche open the season against the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday, October 7. The game is the nightcap of a Versus Triple Header.

Mayfield was the top college-bound player ranked on this list, ahead of BU-bound Matt Nieto and Minnesota-bound Seth Ambroz. This will probably put Mayfield into serious first round consideration, and will also make him a CHL target.

Pioneer Hoops wins game 1 of their Spanish tour, 72-57 over Real Canoe in Madrid, a fourth division pro team, playing in a gym straight out of Hoosiers.

Next game will be against Huesca from Northern Spain, a second division pro team, which should be a much closer game.

The Pioneers also face two first divsion (ACB) teams later in the tour.

The Pioneers Hoopsters win their second straight game against Spanish Pros:

Penas is a second Division Pro team, and the tighter score was reflective the level of talent DU was facing, as opposed to the fourth division opponent DU blew out in Madrid.

Next game will see the Pios play Casajol Sevilla, a first division team. The goal here will be to not get blown out,

OK, just a little bit over a month until DU makes the trip to Burlington Vermont.

The Chevy is gone. So does Murray get the start against UVM? Or the Freshman Brittain.

What is the word on this years DU team?

Hat tip to your scheduler. The first 10 games of your season are a intense a schedule as exists.

UVM's defensive side should be solid. (Most D men return and Goalie Rob Madore is a Junior)

Offense is a big question mark. Need UVM's forward Sophs to step up. (McCarthy, Stalberg and Pacan)
